I would like to send my daughter a Halloween Gift to her college dorm, but I don't want to send candy and I want to keep the gift under $25.

I would like to order something on line. It would make life easier then buying and then going to the post office to have it delivered.

Any ideas??????

How about a "spooky" movie? You could include a bag or two of microwave popcorn packets too. If you sent it from home, you could make a fun snack like popcorn balls (I always think of popcorn balls at Halloween). What about a Halloween tee-shirt? Old Navy has some cute ones for cheap.

That is all I can think of for now...

Dawn

When I was in school, my mom sent me a package from oriental trading each month... each month was party supplies for a different theme. There was plenty of fun things included, and we all really looked forward to our "party in a box".

What about something like bath and body works items? They have a few fall scents like pumpkin and an apple cider.

Or Yankee Candle company and get a couple fall candles.

Or like the poster below said Old Navy has some $5 halloween shirts. They also have halloween pj bottoms for $10 and halloween socks as well.

Borders had Great Pumpkin Charlie Brown Uno & Yatzee.

For me anytime I think Halloween, I think Great Pumpkin

no suggestions, but when did Halloween become a " gifting" holiday?

LOL, I have a cousin that goes all out for Halloween b/c she says eveyone can celebrate it, unlike Valentines Day that makes single people feel left-out!

I think it's a good excuse to send something to a college student! :goodvibes

I love the Oriental Trading idea.

Or a Vermont Teddy Bear.

Or a care package of Halloween themed non-candy treats. Right now at Target a box of 40 mini Rice Krispies treats is $3.99. They also have those little bags of mini choc chip cookies. And I'm sure you can find granola bars, pretzels, etc. as well all Halloween themed. (Although this would require a trip to the post office.)

ETA, thought of a few more ideas:

Mrs Prindable's candy apple http://www.mrsprindables.com/gifts/caramelapples.asp

Sephora.com has Philosophy's Trick or Treat duo, 'I love Candy Corn', Caramel Apple and a Pumpkin Spice line.

Bath and Body Works also has a whole bunch of different Halloween/fall themed things:

Great ideas, I'll have to check out Old Navy and bath and body works, but I gotta believe they won't let college students light candles.

Mrs. Prindables was first on my list, till I added the shipping, but I will check out Sephora, thanks for the idea.

As a college student I would say the " party in a box" idea is great. Old navy has cute halloween pajama pants for about $10 grab a scary movie maybe something you already own and throw in a bag of popcorn and some sweets !

When you haven't seen your child since August and just want to send something fun.

Any day is a gifting holiday when your child's away at college....Happy Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, etc. Just to say I love you and miss you! The goodie bags will mean a lot to her!

Have to agree with the others - when your child is away from home, its fun to send them treats and they LOVE to receive them. I try to send my DD something each week - sometimes the packages are larger than others, some times it just a token gift to let her know that we are thinking of her and miss her. I actually buy clearance stuff after the holidays and save them for the following year!!!

I love the party in a box idea!!!
