Halloween Decorations at the Parks

Hey everyone,

My only two trips to WDW have been during Christmas and the last one we actually got there on the first day of the Christmas festivities. Special wishes, Osborne Festival of Lights, etc. And, at that time the parks have always been decorated.

Now, we have never been to Disney when it is just "regular"... we'll be arriving on Sept. 9 and the first Halloween party is on Sept. 15. Do you think the decorations for Halloween come out that day??? And, are they at all the parks?

I would love to hear about this...

Disney does not do Halloween up like they do Crristmas. I was very disappointed with this.

You will see the occasional bale of hay or pumpkin and the night of the party a few more lighted pumpkins but nothing to write home about.

The only time any of the parks are decorated for Halloween is MK for MNSSHP. DTD has some decorations. Resorts do not decorate, if so, only minimal.

This year will be our first Christmas decoration experience. From pictures I have seen Halloween decorations don't even come close to the Christmas decorations.

They do have flying witches and ghosts flying down main street and on the castle during MNSSHP. They also have jack-o-lanterns in the windows. But that is pretty much where it ends. I enjoyed it but there wasn't a lot. they didn't really have anything out in the parks during the day though.

We have also been during Christmas when it was all decorated up! it's truely a wonderful thing to see...although Osborn lights wasn't going the year we went and I still want to experience it! I am going to MNSSHP in October and was wondering the same thing as you but it looks like they don't do much with Halloween decorations which is disapointing to me also! we were at Disneyland last year and they had a bunch of things out! nothing too scary for little kids though. We are the one house on the street that does Halloween up BIG! you know, Lights...noises...things on roof etc! we are going to miss that this year to go to DW. Ah well, we'll just have to make the best of it during MNSSHP! Happy Halloween!

I know this is a WDW message board but if anyone is going to Disneyland in CA sometime in October...there will be plenty of decorations there. This year DLR is going all out for Halloween. Maybe WDW will do the same?

I have seen pictures of Disneyland Paris in October and it is elaborately decorated for Halloween. Many Europeans like Disneyland Paris because it provides a true slice of Americana and Halloween is seen as a quintessential American holiday.
