Hi! I'm new to the DIS boards. I've been lurking and researching for a week or so and learning a lot. :thumbsup2 We are scheduled to go to DL the first week of November (1st - 9th). Our first day at the park will probably be Nov 2.

I have a question....

Does anyone have any idea how much of the Halloween decorations will still be up through the first week of November? Or do they get those down pretty quick?

Thanks a bunch!

This will be our first vacation with our children and we're so excited! :grouphug:

Most likely it will be down by opening on the 1st..

When they advertise something. Halloween from Sept 29th- Oct 31st. They usually stick to it.

So I would think all the pumpkins and stuff would be down, but some of the fallish stuff might be around on Main street.

Like I told my DS5 Disneyland is never closed... The workers work on it all day long..

The only decorations that will be up for sure is Haunted Mansion holiday. The pumpkins outside will probably be gone, but everything inside will remain through Christmas.

Actually that's not quite true. Disneyland used to be closed on Mondays. It's been a long time since they have done that, but I remember when they were closed on Mondays.

As for halloween decorations, I would suspect the big decorations and pumpkins to be gone by the 1st. It wouldn't surprise me if some of the more generic orange decorations take a few days to come down. But the big pumkin in Town Square, and most of the pumpkins in windows and stuff I would expect to come down right away. And to start seeing Christmas decorations.

I go all the time and can't ever remember this. With the Halloween decorations being gone midnight on Oct 31st (just a guessed time!) when to the Christmas ones go up. I know it is before December actually but can't remember when....

Thanks

Usually a lot of the christmas decorations are up by the first or second friday in November. The first being a Wed this year, I would suspect a lot will be up by Friday, they work pretty fast. In previous years you could see the Christmas tree back stage while they were getting it decorated from the tram to the parking structure. It is usually there a couple of days before it gets moved into the park.

We were there for Halloween in 2001, we were there all day on the 31st and stayed until the very very end of the evening. When we arrived the next morning for early admission the Chirstmas tree was up and many of the trees in front of the castle were decorated with the twinkle lights.

In 2005 we arrived on Nov 6, Halloween was long gone and I dont recall the andy sign of Christmas. BUT on the 11th we arrived that morning and the Large CALIFORNIA letters we red and white striped and the tree was up and fully decorated in gold 50th anniversary decorations.

In the late 70's - early 1980's, during the winter/offseason, the park was closed Mondays and Tuesdays.
