... R U sure you want me to start up another game? I don't want to scare anyone off (again?) :confused3 ?

So - in anticipation of your continuing encouragement.... LETS TRY THIS.... we'll limit this to 4 days... or until this SUNDAY midnite. The game may continue afterwards but I will only award "points" through midnite sunday. PLUS.... The DIS entity who accumulates the most POINTS to this series shall recieve a SPECIAL "free" GIFT FROM ME.... an OFFICIAL DISNEYLAND AUTOGRAPH BOOK sealed in original plastic wrap! Hows that for a bit of incentive - better than simple silent braggin' rights?

ONE POINT is awarded for every answer you post for a funny OR travel related question AND one point is awarded for a posting question that is either travel related or humorous... and two points may be awarded for question that elicits humor and involves travel somehow. NOT posting a question when an answer was posted shall DEDUCT a point. And editing is limited to 1 hour after initially posting. Edits after 1 hour of initial posting shall simply result in zero points awarded for that posting.

This shall be a question game again - and you may answer the posted question OR you may elect to answer a PAST question in this series that seems like more fun ... in case someone else already addressed a question you would enjoy answering. Also - once you have posted an answer you should in turn CONTRIBUTE the next question.

NOW HERE IS THE LIMITING RULE(S).... the question you post has to pertain to or reference TRAVEL OR something OBVIOUSLY HUMOROUS in some way. Either - or .... so there is considerable flexability while limitations are in place. Non-qualifying questions do not get harshly criticized... I'll just count one less towards the total. AND about half way through on Saturday or Friday late nite I will post running point totals. I reserve the right to judge scoring any way I deem fit and fair since I'm donating the priceless prize and setting up the guidelines. ;)

And the starting question shall be.... What was the funnyist thing you ever did or experienced while on a vacation?

Oh you will not scare anyone off...We are all open and this is a great way to get to know one another....Lets have some fun this weekend and we always know that you are up to some fun....

Well the answer to your question is not really me..It is related to my Dh on our honeymoon we met another couple from Orlando...We got to drinking lets say...Well Dh and the other husband got to drinking a whole bottle and a half of Cuervo and started slow dancing with one another and yelling out "I Love YOu Man." to one another..Keep in mind we had just met them a few hours before....The next day the locals and the other members of the resort were coming up to both and them and telling them that they were "Hereos of sort and lucky to be alive for what they drank." The resort in St. thomas still has the two bottles behind the bar with their names on it...They were the life of the party lets say...Luckily we are great friends with the other couple now!!!!!

Question: What is the most lavious vacation you have ever taken????

Ok Crash hopefully I have followed all of the rules.....

Question: What is the most lavious vacation you have ever taken????

2 points awarded to KRITTER.

Latest Q posed .... Question: What is the most lavious vacation you have ever taken????

:confused3

Now since I am quasi-hosting and spiffing the prize - I technically can't compete! But that does NOT prevent me from contributing an answer... and this in NO way prevents anyone from responding to the Q posed by Kristen...

So... off hand the most "lavish" thing we did was just before our 1st child was born I took my spouse on a spur of the moment weekend trip to Hong Kong. It was very last minute in nature - just a pure "power shopping" and go for a couple "nice meal" spins ... only it was pretty far away by air. We flew 1st C and all. On the way back ... to this date it stands out as the ONLY trip where she lounged in the seat and pleasantly remarked .... "can we do this again?". Heck, we really didn't spend too much shopping or eating... and it was just a weekend... I think it was a 3 day thing ... and it was during the 3rd trimester of her pregnancy!!!! Yeah... I know (now) that this was NOT a really bright idea sort of trip after all. We had asked our OBGYN if we could go to HK and he cheeerfully said "yes". On returning we commented that HK was pleasant and he stammerred ... "you guys actually went?!? I (he) was just kidding when (he) I said it was OK to go!!!". IE... if something happened and the baby were born over there then what nationality would the critter have been? Chinese? Well we ARE Chinese... in heritage ... but I was technically 1st or 2nd generation born in LA and my spouse is either 4th or 1st generation born in NY depending upon which parent you are considering. So we are definately American - and I guess this prospect of a surprise birth could have been a huge "issue" had something unexpected happened. But - of course - nothing happened but a little garden variety fun and rompinig about.

At any rate... that's what I think was a bit of lavish fun. Not exactly a trip to Buckingham Place for tea and crumpets with Prince Charles and his "Mum" ... but something a little unusual in our terms. I was truthfully concerned in a mild way as to what might for-ever change in our lives with the arrival of our children. People used to warn ... "kiss off" travel and all fun things a childless existance offers. So I figured - this moment qualified as a potential last opportunity to go do something - like a little far off travel. What did I "know" about what was going to change with kids arriving at that point?

So.... for that Q response I shall award myself ... zero points (as host) and if no one posts a response with QUESTION by midnite tonight - why then I'll post a Q too. This formally leaves open a chance for YOU to respond and post a question of your own!

OK... so who shall be NEXT? :confused3

Another point for KRITTER... !!!!

Well... seeing as I started this it of nonsense - and since I'm about to take off for most of the evening - (gonna see my FIL for dinner who is in town for a couple days for a convention) - I'll toss in an answer and I'll hold off on a Q until after midnite California time.

SO - as my response (and this in NO way restricts anyone else from answring these first 3 questions posed - as I am a disqualified participant since I am a host of sorts and supplying the "prize") ... so here is my response...

... the most unusual thing I ever encountered on a DCL cruise was - one nite I was walking the ship late at nite with my then 1.75 year old daughter. She was not very sleepy since she was still on California time AND she typically goes to sleep around idnite - which is NOT a good thing if we're trying to get some sleep and be functional in the morning. SO to enable my spouse and older daughter a chance to sleep - I was out of the cabin with my active baby and walking loops around the ship at 1 to 2AM. THere were moderately well behaved clusters of roving teens and work folks cleaning and so on. And at one point I was walking up th=o the extreme front of the ship by the bridge - litterally eandering every possible nook and corner of the ship when I turned a shadowy corner by the bridge.... and there were a couple making out - and in the dark shadows I could tell at a glance (no mre than a glance) it was obvious they were half NAKED! :rolleyes1

I sort of immediately turned away and left. I thought it odd that they did not go to a cabin. SO - as I could not really tell ages or faces or anything - except that they were in fact HALF (or three quarters) NAKED and so on - well - so wo were they and why in public at 2AM? Yeah - I a guessing thet might have been teens avoiding their parents or room-mates in their cabins. OR - it might have been a ... crew member and passenger? OR maybe two crew members? Oh well... it was pretty shadowy and I turned away quickly ... after shooting about 15 inutes of camcorder video.... NOT!!!!

At any rate - I'll once again award myself NO POINTS as te host of the weekend game! SO - lets have someone else step forward to share their silliest, or crazyist, or most odd ball and surprising thing experienced on a DCL or WDW vacation.

Here are a couple snap shots of myself from that evening walking the ship late at nite...

Okay Captain, I have a question about this.....were they a combined three quarters NAKED, or was each one 3/4 NAKED? If each one was 3/4 NAKED, how does that happen? Did they each leave a shoe on :rotfl2:

As for the question, I don't think I will be much help as I haven't SEEN anything crazy in my limited experience on DCL or WDW, but I may be in other people's stories, but lets hope not.

I will keep watching and hopefully I will be able to chime in on another question.

Does anyone have any good stories that they can share about train travel?

No great train travel stories, but if you are looking for a good train ride, the Durango/Silverton ride is GORGEOUS!! We did that last summer. It is 7 hrs round trip & the kids did great! We sat in the very back & got to chat with the Brakeman the whole way. He told us about his job & what the whistle blows mean. Cody is completely obsessed with trains (not just Thomas) and he was in train heaven all day! In fact, his Bday party this weekend will have a heavy train theme. Complete with a motion-activated train pinata thet chuggs & toots when it is touched.

Are you a big train fan or were you scrambling to come up with a question??

In case my response qualifies as an adequate answer, here's a question....

For return cruisers: What did you take with you on your first cruise that was just a waste of space/weight in your luggage?
For first-timers: What are you planning on taking that you just can't fathom why???

My parents were both from the Chicago Area, so every year we would take the train down there to see relatives, as I don't think we had a car big enough or stable enough to drive down there, so I thought I would put that question out there. I also used to have a really cool train set when I was kid, but unfortunately, it took up so much space, that as soon as I got a little older and didn't play with it all the time, it went out the door. :sad2:

That pinata sounds really cool. Wish Cody a happy birthday from us! I hope the party goes great. party:

To answer your question, I am still wondering why I packed 7 pairs of gym socks. I don't think I wore a pair of socks the whole time on the cruise, except for dress socks at dinner, and the day we came home.

I am going to hold off on posting another question right now and to see if anyone else would like to answer your excellent question above.

Hello folks....

My notebook computer just got pullled over by one of my kids and the power plug was pushed a bit in - breaking it. Battery power ran out and I ordered a new keyboard and power plug receptical ($30 for a tiny plug receptical!!!) to attempt a fix. Oh yeah - the new keyboard was needed because of an earlier episode where my daughter pried off the "B" key from the keyboard and dislodged several adjoining keys. So - I am a bit side lined.

Furthermore, my regular desktop CPU was just dropped off at a friend's place 2 days ago for repair/refreshing. The video card abruptly failed. SO my buddy is taking my old CPU and upgrading me with anopther one that alother pal donated to "the pool" as he was upgrading to a higher model. My "fee" for the upgrade is a free lunch for my buddy.

So my spouses' company notebook has a new warning and policy attached to it - no personal use - So, we don't use it for anything but her work. And I have another 2 notebooks - both out of use for a couple of years. The better one is missing the power supply - so I am now on a LIBRARY computer to order a PA-6 Dell power supply from Ebay. It's gonna set me back $19 or so. But then when the new PA-6 arrives that one will serve as a functioning 3rd backup.... or a notebook for the kids.

What a mess juggling the loss coincidental loss of all our personal home computers.

So - new point awards are - (drum roll please).... Goofy is hereby awarded 3 POINTS :thumbsup2 for posting the train answer, posting the sox answer, and an honorary point for ask me whats the difference between 3/4s versus 1/2 NAKED. It is a VALID question since it is travel related - even though it can only be answered by one person.... And my response has got to be - it's gonna be left up to your imagination... And officially - for the record - future Qs have to be posed to the DIS community at large to qualify for a point award.

PLUS.... C-Marg earns 2 points for the TRAIN answer and PACKING question posted!

With that in mind .... I will not be on line much as I am waiting to get a working computer hooked up to my secured wiFI network. The only working notebook I have does NOT have a wifi antenna - I think. Gotta go waste some time on investigating that now. Or then again - maybe not. Tomorrow is a Church clean up day (I volunteered a shift :artist: ), plus a childs' BD party and a DOdger game in the afternoon... it's the Phillies and a free DOdger T-shirt for the first 50,000 fans game!!!! <I got my tix in sec 28 row R, right above 1st base - worth about $68+ at the gate - for ... you'll love this... $5.50 for all 4 on eBay! What a bargain!!! They just arrived via fedEX today!> Oh yeah - I got my custom sweat shirts and T-shirts from Disney.com. I'll shoot photos and post them for everyone to consider. The upside - is the Disney.com site now has adult white custom T-shirts on sale now - PLAIN WHITE I THINK (I"ll investigate and post the low down) - and the down side is they substituted one of my sweat shirts with a T-shirt - and one of our childresn' T-shirts came with a HOLE in it - so we need to get these two problems addressed.

Sunday is half busy too - we go to Snata Barbara for the nite and to participate as volunteers for a cancer awareness and support event. So ... I might come on the net saturday evening as I have some time then - and possibly sunday evening.

So - the standings as of now are that I believe Kritter has 3 points, Goofy has 3 and C-Marge 2. Now if someone would start with some FUNNY TRAVEL Qs - that qualifies for double points - and any Q you have not already answered can count too! (if you post a valid answer!) Just cuz ONE person has answered does not limit anyone else from answering ~ IF you have a valid response. Plus a bonus point on the answer IF your story qualifies for laughs! Remember - the winner shall walk away with a crisp and new in the wrapper official Disneyland autograph book - sent in the mail to your adress (or anyplace the USPS serves with 1st class postage) in the USA!

Plus ... I am officially extending this round of (drum roll again if you please) to Monday evening midnite since we've had a slow start. It gives others a chance to compete - and me a chance to process since my computers are in disarray.

Gotta go now... have a great day and weekend! :happytv:

Crash,
First I have to say, Nice Berries!!! :rotfl2:

What was the funnyist thing you ever did or experienced while on a vacation?

I don't remember. But I'm pretty sure alcohol was involved.

What is the most lavious vacation you have ever taken????

What, a Disney cruise isn't lavish enough? Next to that, I would have to say that our Alaska vacation was it. A week in a motorhome and a "cruise" of the inside passage on the Alaska Highway System.

WHAT IS THE CRAZIEST THING YOU HAVE SEEN IN WDW OR ON DCL????

Everybody looking ill at dinner the first night of the cruise and all the little spots (patches) behind their ears the next few days!

Does anyone have any good stories that they can share about train travel?

No. We saw an empty raft floating down the river next to our Durango/Silverton train. There were no survivors. Not a good story.

What did you take with you on your first cruise that was just a waste of space/weight in your luggage?

In the luggage, that makes it harder - otherwise it would be me that was a waste of space. I would have to go with GDAC and say too many clothes.

My question:

Have you ever seen a grown man naked?

Oh, wait. That's not MY question. I stole that from 'airplane'.

So, my question is...

Well, it doesn't really matter, does it? Pick one of the questions above and deduct some points from my score.

I got my damaged power plug working on the main computer- and it stays on only if the whole thing is NOT moved or bumped. Without battery power left (it is not charging) the thing abruptly shuts off and I lose whatever is up on screen if the AC power is interrupted. What a pain - plus my status lights are OUT so I have a tough tie telling if the plus is positioned OK to work = what a pain. :confused3

SO - points awarded for the mass response from AWOL... I count 5 answers for 5 points and an honorary half point for a half heartedly posed question with humor... so for any who aspire to earn a half point - who has seen a grown an naked? Might I earn a 3/8ths of a point if I saw a 3/4s of a grown man naked in the shadows on the MAGIC? Oops... I am not able to award points to my responses as the self appointed host of this bit of madness. Oh well...

Anyone want to try for half a point for responses to the humorous "NAKED grown man" question? FULL Bonus points up for grabs if the answer involves any substantive TRAVEL.

ANd on the berries... they were in fact among the sweetest I've ever had - with a few notable exceptions from that basket. And really - I should have posted iages of our shoes. They were heavily encrusted with mud soaked in strawberry juice from the mess we had to climb through at times to get about. I now have a new found appreciation of the effort it takes to PICK these things - let alone grow and nicely pack prime specimens in those strawberry crates! :goodvibes

If you were going to steal a line from Airplane, you should have gone with "have you ever been in a turkish prison", that way it would have been funny, and also involved Travel. That might have gotten you a full point, or maybe two. :cool1:

Hey Gang,

Wow, you all are a chatty group today.

I agree with GDAC too many socks, and too much beer for the MAN :drinking1

Have I ever seen a grown man naked, yes once in a Turkish Prison and that is all I am saying until the boat sails.

A lavish vacation: My Dad took me to the Island of St. John when I was in 4th or 5th grade and we camped on the beach for 10 days along with my Aunt and Unlce. One of the days we chartered a sail boat with a crew. It was an incredible experience. It makes us sound a little like hippies but it was the late 70's what can I say. :hippie:

Ok, for my question: Did anyone else think the Ventriloquist on the boat was hysterical??? I thought he was so funny :rotfl2: I would love to see his adult show. Anyone know if he is still performing? (OK AWOL I am ready for you to give me a hard time about this one)

I can not answer LaRue's question since I was not on a crusie yet..But in answer to Awol's question about seeing a gronw man naked...

The answer is a HUGE YES!!! This time in the hops..which I know it is not vacation related...there was a man who wandered the halls at night completly naked till the nurses had to tie him down...lets just say he has taken a ton of viagra... :rotfl: :rotfl:

So is this an ok answer to your question...

Now do I need to ask a question????

Here it is if it is my turn????

WHAT IS THE ONE THING YOU WOULD CHANGE OR ADD TO THE DISNEY CRUISE???????

We had a woman ventriloquist (Lynne something) and she was one of the FUNNIEST acts I've ever seen. We still quote lines from her.

I would like to make the days last longer. On my previous cruise, the time just flew by and before I knew, it we were headed back to the airport. Kind of a lame answer, but other than that, there isn't much I would change. (I did like Captain's previous idea of a giant water slide down to Castway Cay)

Okay, here is another question:

When you fly, are you a window or isle person, and why?

So is this an ok answer to your question...

Kristen earns another half point on the H-U-G-E answer here - plus another full point on the DCL Q. Bringing the total to - I believe 4.5

La Rue gets 2 points on answers - plus a full point on the Naked answer since Turkish prisons are assumed to involve international travel to reach one - now if we had some obvious humor in the response - then this might have been 1.5 points. So - we also have 2 points awarded for the DCL ventriloquist question. Thus bringing La Rues' current total to FOUR points.

Goofy adds 2 points for the reply and a travel question - sans laughs. This brings goofy up to 5 points.

And for Princess - I'm not sure but I believe we'll award a point for the reply on the female V. I've never seen a female Ventriloquist on a DCL sailing - but I draw the conclusion that Princess saw one on one of her sailings.

So that leaves AWOL at 5.5 points C-Marg at 2. If anyone disagrees with y tally then PM me - or post it publicly to make the lashings an open ordeal! At any rate - It looks like AWOL is in the lead - and there will be no prizes for 2nd or 3rd place.

Plus since things have picked up - I am recinding the extension to Monday - as this is getting a bit complicated tallying the scores - and we have a decent quorum of participants now - so Sunday midnite shall be the cut off again for game purposes.

ANd - I don't suppose anyone noticed - but I think we just got 2 more votes on the cruise poll. And off hand - I think we had a vote to catagory 1. Anyone new who might be lurking - do you care to step foreward and introduce yourself? :surfweb:

....and just for the record... I am a window person - exceot presently ... I am unable to get a window when my daughter travels she hogs up the window seat!!!!

....plus IF I could change anything on DCL cruises - I would grant every DIS enthusiast a $50 cabin credit for every 100 postings! And every DIS enthusiast would get a free 25% off on a future sailing for every 1000 postings to the DIS! AND... every DIS enthusiast would automatically get concierge services in any catagory they booked. That would be an easy one, eh? :happytv:

That whole movie just cracks me up. I bet half of my schtick comes from that movie.

Window for me, thanks. I get tired of getting beat about the head and neck by everyone, including stewardesses walking up and down the aisle. Yeah, so I have crick in my neck from conforming to the airplane's curves. Big deal. :lmao:

Kristen earns another half point on the H-U-G-E answer here - plus another full point on the DCL Q. Bringing the total to - I believe 4.5

Good point (hehe).

And for Princess - I'm not sure but I believe we'll award a point for the reply on the female V. I've never seen a female Ventriloquist on a DCL sailing - but I draw the conclusion that Princess saw one on one of her sailings.

You know, that might have been GoofyDAC in drag. :lmao:

So that leaves AWOL at 5.5 points C-Marg at 2. If anyone disagrees with y tally then PM me - or post it publicly to make the lashings an open ordeal! At any rate - It looks like AWOL is in the lead - and there will be no prizes for 2nd or 3rd place.

That reminds me of a biology course I took once where we had to draw out some of the digestive cycles. I made a bit of funny by making the exit of the Urethra cycle a bit of phalic symbol. Even though my flowchart was technically correct, my teacher deducted 5 points for lack of IQ. Fully justified and worth the chuckle I got out of it. I fully expect the same here ;)

:surfweb:

I think all of the cat 1 responses can be disregarded. We KNOW JayPd wimped out on us, right?

....plus IF I could change anything on DCL cruises - I would grant every DIS enthusiast a $50 cabin credit for every 100 postings! And every DIS enthusiast would get a free 25% off on a future sailing for every 1000 postings to the DIS! AND... every DIS enthusiast would automatically get concierge services in any catagory they booked. That would be an easy one, eh? :happytv:

Oh that would be cool if I had concierge in our bilge pump room!

Hey, I have silly question:
When you travel, do you plan and reserve for yourself or do have a TA do it for you?
