Well we made it home. That storm last night was something. LaRue is still down for the count. I woke up about 1 am and could not fall back asleep until 3:30am because it is very difficult to sleep with those life jackets on :rotfl2:

Wndrmite, DID you make it home waiting for you to post????

Boy the storm was terrible last night.. We are home and doing laundry already......

We got home about 11am and were all asleep before noon. We do not usually have sea legs but we do this time. The storm was kinda neat. Fran and I went to deck 4 outside and then up to 10 to watch the pools empty themselves.

Had a great cruise, it was nice to meet so many people.

I went to bed at 12 and then woke up at 2AM...NO FUN...I still think I might get sick. I had the thought at 2AM maybe I should just do vodka shots, but I didn't want to have to wake up the kids to put their life vests on just in case I got too looped! So instead I just starting shoving extra pillows to stop the banging of the closet doors and the safe. Our cabin was SOOO loud! I was glad to wake up a few hours later to calmer seas.

I woke up at 12m to the sound of hangers banging.....and could not stand it. So, I got up ,took them all out and laid them on the carpet. By the time I made my way back to bed....I was sick! I spent the next three hours......well, you know! I felt better by morning, but I'm just now feeling "back to normal". But, the room is definitely still spinning. Larue, I hope you are feeling better by now!

I wanted to sincerely thank all of you who made our families' first cruise such a memorable one. I think (and hope) we have made some life long friends because of this experience. I don't think it would have been nearly as nice if we had not shared it with our DIS friends! :goodvibes

Deanna,

That is terrible. I do hope that you are feeling better now...

I have a terrible headache still tonight and still feel like I am on the ship.

Our waiter this morning told us this was the worst he had seen the seas in a long time.

Deena, Glad that your family had such a great time. It was wonderful to meet you all.

My kids were going through all of the halloween candy again today.. Thanks to all who gave out candy. It was great...

I AM HOME!!........wait... that is not a good thing!!!!!

I had sooooo much fun. It was so cool getting to meet you all.

Those seas last night were NUTS! I called guest services about 2 am to make sure she was not breaking apart!

I am going to feed my kids dinner, but will post soon...

Kristen, my girls miss your kids!

I'm waiting for the first pic's of the yellow speedo!!!!

Come on, I knew a ton of people took pictures.

It is 9pm and I still feel the rocking of the ship...

I was up until about 3am. I was waiting to hear the 7 distress horns. I just knew we were going down!!!!!

Is it just me or did other people think (panic?) about what they would do if we had to actually put on our life jackets?

CAN WE GO BACK NOW???

Call me crazy, but I thought the rough seas were kinda neat! We hadn't experienced that on our other cruises, so it was a different experience. We took the windy walk around the bow on deck 10, checked out the pools, watched the huge waves...then slept like babies. I got up to close the bathroom doors that slammed, but that was it.

The cruise was a great vacation, a HUGE thanks to Heather and Kristin for organizing the trick or treat- the DCL one was a mob scene that we had no interest in. :) You guys made the trip all the more special. Having this board made the trip so special, getting to see everyone, meeting Chris and Bob in Budget Car rental and not being able to remember anything from the board about them except the yellow speedo. (sorry!) Wndrmte, we're so glad your brother Jay from Wisconsin has such a great sense of humor, we really enjoyed Taylor Mason's show all the more knowing he was picking on your brother. :)

Teri, it was great to spend some of the CC Reception with you! Please send me your email address, we'll give you a holler when we're headed to Charleston. Sorry I didn't make Tea with Wendy, I couldn't find it! I asked at the desk and they told me Studio Sea, but there was no one there, so I went sunning on Deck 10 instead. :)

Deanna, it was wonderful to meet you and Rob. You have a lovely family! Steven had a blast the time he spent with Drew. It is difficult to balance hanging with the friends and spending time with the family. I'm getting ready to review the photos, and I'm sure there are so many fewer this time of Steven than the last cruises... I guess that's just part of being on the cusp of those teen years! You'll have to elaborate on the whole "Family of the Week" thing- it's cool that one of our DISboard families won it!!!

Heather, it was great to meet your family, too! Steven had a good time with Tim, and again, balancing the friends with family. I'm glad they can email!

We had a great time, rebooked our Transatlantic with a better deal from DCL directly, and I'll be sure to write more later! Thank you all for making our time on the Magic even more magical, I wish you were all going on the Transatlantic with us!!!

God bless you all,
Sherry

Just got a call from DCL we forgot one of our bags...OPPS they want us to come back and sail with them this week...LOL!!!! :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

Seriously we did well DH did foget one bag so they are shipping it to us.. The women told me that seven families forgot bags. She laughed and said did we all want to come back is that why we forgot them??? :rolleyes1 :rolleyes1

What an incredible trip. It was wonderful meeting so many of you. I can't beleive that it is all over and we are back to the daily routine. We hope that everyone made it back safe and sound.

We are looking forward to keeping in touch with our new friends.

Thanks for the wonderful memories.

Well, we all spent the day sleeping yesterday. Woke up just long enough to go out to eat. You would think that sleeping all afternoon, would make us nice and perky for the evening. WRONG! Everyone was asleep last night by 8:00.

We're not sleepy today, but we're all having trouble walking around still. We've never had it (sea legs) like this before. I feel dizzy everytime I turn around. I can say that we all took Bonine the minute that they made the announcement about the rough seas, and no one in our family felt the slightest bit seasick. :)

Back to doing laundry..........

Welcome HOME folks!

So... whos gonna do the TRIP report? I know these things can take a little time ... but it certainly sounds like someone could have something interesting to say about the roller coaster you encountered on the last nite into PC. How exciting from my POV... and if it were my spouse commenting I imagine she would have been getting dizzy just thinkin' about it, as this little graphic might induce similar sensations:

spiral.gif

As I recollect... we've been in 10' seas before and it was pretty "hairy"... but it was also memorable as a little "adventure" too!

Teri,

It was so nice meeting you and your husband. It seems like the time on the ship flew by and I did not have enough time talk to everyone. It seems like I was always busy with the kids. It took Hanna a few days to adjust since she had the bad reaction to the seasickness meds. I will never give them to her again. She literally slept the entire first half of the trip away. Needless to say I was in the cabin for the first few days....
Thanks again for the Halloween gift Terri....
Can not wait to read your trip report.

Finally finished all of the laundry and everything is all put away..

Capt. Crash it was soo nice meeting you before the cruise. Thanks for all of the gifts for the kids!!!

I started my trip report!! If anyone would like to add to it or add any rebuttle feel free!!! :artist: I plan to do a day or two at a time, so it is a report in progress.

Teri

Was I suppose to do laundry when I got home? :laundy:
We didn't get home until 8:30 pm on the day we left the ship. We wobbled at every gas station, lunch, bathroom stop we made :teeth:
Sunday was spent returning phone calls, checking mail, emptying suitcases and building a pile of clothes in the laundry room. Oh yeah, and sleeping, too! We are still fighting the cold we picked up in St. Maarten. For those of you on the same bus that didn't get it... consider yourselves lucky! :goodvibes
As soon as my head clears, I'll be writing a trip report.
Did anyone have Conrad and Mariano as your servers? They were great! After our last b-fast, we got downstairs and James noticed he forgot the Baileys he bought me. He went back up to get it and Mariano had it waiting for him. He (jokingly) said he thought it was an extra tip for Conrad and himself. They were just adorable. Jame thinks I have a thing for my servers! If I do, I'm not saying! :rotfl2:
I was so glad to meet everyone. I ran into quite a few of you during excursions and manditory meetings. I wish we could have spent more time getting to know all of you. Being we had no children, we spent most of our time in child free areas, or in our stateroom (wink, wink). There's nothing like catching up on some well needed sleep after getting up at 2:30 am for the last 2 years!
Now I guess I'll get this stack of bills paid... and maybe do some laundry :teeth:
Looking forward to the next cruise! :boat: :disrocks:

just got back 10:30 last night!!!!

:wizard: that was the vacation of a lifetime!!!!!!. :wizard: ..so we rebooked for next year!!!

had a few second thoughts Friday night though!!!!! I can't believe some of you were brave enough to go up on deck - I was too afraid to leave the room!!!

spent Sat and Sun at Cocoa Beach - skipped Space Center due to no sleep Fri nt (I was out by 7 Sat nt while DH and DD watched POC2) - and couldn't swim because of rip tides...but had fun taking it easy. Saw Eddie Money (we think - is he REALLY fat now???) at the Cocoa Beach Pier - he is doing the State Fair this week. His face was on our placemat at Marlins and then we look up and see the same face on a guy outside the window...strange.

we won $514 in BINGO - just two games away from the big jackpot......sure made Saturdays statement a little easier to take!!!!

ArmandXG - there was a little hacking Ebola monkey sitting next to me at the St Thomas customs check - ended up with a little sore throat thing - luckily, not enough to slow me down - and, luckily, Dh and DD didn't get it.

can't thank everyone enough for organizing the trick or treat - DD (and DH too!!!!!) loved that !!!(we too skipped the Disney one to spend time in the pool while it was quiet - and the party came to us!!! (besides - we did MNSSHP Fri and now have enough candy to last to next Halloween - and beyond!!!!!!)

thanks to everyone handing out candy as well - the kids needed super size buckets for all the great goodie bags!!!!!!!! I know I had fun doing it!!!! :sunny:

well, we are booked for the Western next Nov - and DH says we have airfare for a long weekend at the World sometime in the next few months - so coming home isn't soooo hard!!!!!! :sunny:

we spoke with a nice couple prior to embarkation about DVC club, so DH is FINALLY interested in looking into that!!!! YAy!!! We have only taken 6 Dsiney trips in the last 7 years......

man. I have sooo much laundry to do!!!! :sad2:
