I had hoped to View the "International Space Station"
from sea without the Light Pollution of the Eastern Coast;
No such Luck....No Visible Passes during our Cruise :sad2:
===========================================
For those who have never viewed the "International Space Station";
Here is the Link for Cocoa Beach:

Well I saw the first traces of snow this morning on my way to work, so you could say I am really looking forward to getting out of town in two weeks. This trip and nice weather cannot come fast enough. :sunny:

Geek Confession: :guilty:

Watching all the conversations about the space launches... I must make a confession.. I too am a space nerd. About 6 years ago for my birthday, my family purchased airline tickets and Kennedy space center tickets for me to go watch a shuttle launch. It was the best present EVER :teeth:... except, a few hours before launch it was cancelled till the next week and I could not stay... so I still have not seen one... grrrr.......

I have a NASA jacket though.. does that make me a geek?:earboy2:

Oh My goodness...... snow! You guys must be really ready to go.

I spoke to my travel agent and our docs are on the way to her. THEN they will come to us. She said probably Monday or Tuesday.

It was in the low 40's here this AM and I thought that was cold! It is suppose to be in the 30's here by this weekend, as if i was not already ready to go, that should do it! :cool1:

I thought I was going to have to turn on the heater in the truck this morning! It was below 70 degrees! For those of you weather experts, that's a wind chill factor of, well, it's the same. :rotfl2:

You know that there will be an indian summer while you're on the cruise, right? It will be shorts and T-shirts weather the whole time you're gone and when you get back, it will be snowing again!

14 days until we leave!!! :woohoo:

I figure you are right about the Indian summer. Actually I think it is going to warm up to 50 or so in another day or two (that is almost golf weather), so we can hopefully put away the hat and mittens again.

So maybe you can combine the doc dance and the two week dance into one, if that darn UPS man will show up at your house today :banana: :cool1:

He'll come today. I have things to do this am, so he'll definitely come while I'm out. Maybe that's been his plan all along. He's afraid that if he delivers while I'm here, I'll be overcome with joy that I'll take it out on him. He probably has spies located throughout the neighborhood monitoring my every move.

I'm outta here for a bit.

Uh. YEAH! You are a geek! Be proud! Too bad you missed that launch. That would have been really cool!

Keeping my fingers crossed that everyone else will get their documents today. I got my yesterday, but my Dad who lives 20mins away, did not get his :confused3

Hope everyone is having a great day!

Dave,

Sooo sorry to hear that Kelly was sick last time...DID any of you get sick???

Hope it was not something she picked up on the cruise??? I am totally freaked out by getting sick while on board.....

Kristen....I am pretty sure that it was from the cruise as we did hear of others that got sick.

One of many reasons to wash and sanitize your hands constently even if not eating. Fran and I were waiting just outside the restrooms by the Buena Vista Theatre one night when a counsler let a group of boys go to the restroom. When the first boy came out the counsler asked if he had washed his hands and he said yes............so the counsler said "what color was the soap?" The boy had no answer so he had to go back and wash. Imagine how many others are not washing hands?????

I know Kelly will be more careful this trip as she did not enjoy laying in bed all day on her last day on the ship.

Dave

He came while we were out getting Hubby some shoes and new shirt for the cruise. The sneaky little buzzard. :woohoo:

In an ironic twist, I also found out this a.m. that Friday will be my last day at work because I am good friends (and show a strong loyalty???) to the Manager who's last day was yesterday.
The good news is that I no longer have to get up at 2 or 2:30 a.m. every day. So now I have more time to get ready for a well deserved vacation and will be able to join everyone in the morning walks on board! :rotfl:
Of course it's either back to being a housewife with no excuse as to why the socks didn't get folded (my worst job) or back to job hunting. I think I'd rather go look for a job. :goodvibes

ArmandXG - That sucks on the job! But, I guess the timing couldn't be much better! I always look at this way: I was looking for a job when I found this one! I'm sure it will be nice to get a little less nocturnal schedule, too!

I just checked room availability (again). There were only 3 staterooms available for cats 10/11. Still 8+ in cat 9. Everything else (cats 4-8, 12) are GTY only.

We got to put a hold on our mail today! One more thing to check off the list! If you didn't know you can do it online, 14 days in advance, at https://dunsapp.usps.gov/HoldMail.jsp

Dave, We have had this happen twice with 2 seperate vacations. One was a land only vacation in the Dominican...could not pay me to return to that place, and the other was a Royal Caribbean cruise last year out of Tampa. Ship came in the port with 80 -100 passengers ill with Norwalk. I tried everything to switch to another date but they wouldn't budge. Ended up Sara became ill on the last day too. Let's cross our fingers we have a "healthy sail" this time around. Take care. Erin.

Sorry to hear about the job, but like you said, now you don't have to get up so early anymore.

Thanks for the information, I just got our mail stopped. Now, if I can figure out to stop the newspaper, I will be in business.
