Hello everyone,

have booked HNY empire 29Oct - 2nd November.

But now a bit worried about all the crowds....

Anyone been over this time?? Are the crowds really that big??

We are going over Oct half term but have no need to do so as its just me and the wife going...We cant go in Nov or Dec due to work commitments but we can go a week before missing the half term break..

Really thinking of changing the booking...

Any advice? thoughts??

Cheers

I, personally, have never been there in October. I'm going for the first time this year. I'd personally avoid any half term holidays like the plauge. My experience of DLRP in Feb half term about 10 years ago was enough to put me off half term holidays for life. If you are in the lucky position to not have to go during them then I would avoid them (I have about 3 years left I think until little man starts school)

i have booked for the week before i dont deal well with crowds so i would say if you can avoid going at that time then do

I would love to go to the party on the 31st but I know it would be very busy and as its just the two of us I dont see why we should go in half term when we can go other times when its cheaper too... therefore thats why we're going the first week of Oct.

Unless theres a reason you really want to go on them dates i would go earlier..... you will still get all the same halloween stuff bar the party.

It gets VERY busy around then usually. I'd echo the "change dates" if you're able x

Hi there we went start of october last year and we found that during the week it was really quiet so we managed to do all the rides and see things we wanted to see BUT during the weekend it was packed ques for some rides was over an hour wait we were glad we got it all done during the week and did not go on alot during the weekend my hubby and nephews done a couple of fast passes but still had to wait 20 mins hope this helps .

have a fab trip we thought halloween was great

vicki xxx

I have booked the 2nd last week in October because I wanted to miss the crowds of Halloween week. So hopefully it won't be as busy that week! If you want to go for lesser crowds & don't mind missing the 31st, I think I would change.

We're going 21-25 October as that's our Scottish schools October break. Our next door neighbour is going as well! I'm hoping not all Scots have booked last minute Oct break DLP holidays!

You'll have VIP fastpasses though.

I want to do Empire HNY for just the night of th 31st next year so I can go to the party. So you will have the benefit of being there for that! :)

I was there last year during Scottish half term. I did hear a lot of Scottish accents but it was still fairly quiet-ish, very short queues and walk ons on a lot of rides. Unless of course you're right and the whole country is going to descend on the parks

Hi guys

after a lot of pondering i decided to change our booking.

Going the week before now...i guess it will be busy but less than half term week.

I guess the VIP passes will help but there are a lot of non fastpass rides there and crowds in the restaurants to think of...

OK will miss the party but theres a lot of Halloween stuff going on..

im a grown man but cant sleep sometimes thinking of the trip... sad eh?....

Anyway look forward to my reports... those of you wanting an opinion on the new empire state rooms....

In my opinion you have done the best thing. I look forward to the trip report, and don't worry, there are plenty of us who can sleep days and weeks before hand!

A good choice. I'm heading over from 8-12 October and can't wait. Halloween is my favourite season at the resort.

Gutted the Pink Witches are going (although they're being replaced by Pumpkinwomen....)

There are also some party nights in Fantasyland every Friday in October (well I think it is anyway - the dates are somewhere - I'll try and find them). Not quite the Halloween party but something nonetheless. It's 25 euros and half price for Dream AP holders.
