We are going to our first MNSSHP On October 18th and the kids cant decide what to go as. I am not sure whether to get something in the UK or wait until we get to Orlando as we may see something we like better:lmao:

What kind of selection does Walmart and Target have costume wise. Is there a vast choice or is it pirate, princess, superhero etc ! Just wondered if it would be worth waiting :)

Whatever you chose, make sure it isn't too hot of a costume. One year, DS went as Superman and he was roasting! Even in October! Have fun!

I got DH and myself Hawian shirts and I wore a grass skirt (DH wouldn't go that far :rotfl:) I was still very hot - I would avoid synthetic fabrics if you can. Some people really go to town but they must be baking with all that on

Our Target has a pretty good selection of costumes, but really, I think you might have just as much fun with with face painting and a unique set of ears.

Lots of fun stuff to choose from. There is this glowing skeleton head necklace that, doggone it, I should have purchased when I was last there. And I love the pirate mickey ears, too. or Indiana Jones, or ..... you get the picture.

Whatever you decide - have a wonderful time!

Hello,

My family and I went last year, my husband and I were pirates we wore frayed shorts, black/white striped shirts, red bandanas on our head with eye patches.pirate:

The kids wore simple hemmed Dorothy/Belle dresses with thin legging shorts underneath (to hop on and off rides) and comfortable maryjane shoes with rubber soles and ankle socks. We all had our faces painted for free (part of ticket) when we went in and they looked great! princess:

It was hot but we were all comfortable! We had a wonderful time and I hope you will too!

Jackie- those 2 stores will carry pretty traditional princess, spiderman, fireman, various witch/goblin/other scary creatures. If your kids are picky and have a costume they *have* to have, I'd get one before you come over. I'm not sure what shipping would be like to you but try www.costumeexpress.com.

I'll reiterate what others have said- nothing too hot and also think about how the costumes will work on rides.

We are just wearing matching t shirts. One of the Disers designed a mnsshp shirt for us and I just finished them this morning. DD has agreed to do this instead of a costume because of the heat. Last time we went it was kinda chilly though. But it was late October. This year we are going on Oct 6th and I expect it to be hot hot hot.

Have fun!!!!

Hi, we're also going to our first MNSSHP (Labor Day weekend, I'm not really in the Halloween spirit yet) and was wondering--susiemouse, you said face painting was part of your ticket??? How did you do that???

Can't wait!

When we entered with the MNSHP ticket, we came across free face painting in Adventureland. There was an area set up near the magic carpets of Aladdin ride. There were about 3 or 4 make-up artist that had several designs to choose from (i.e. butterfly) and then they would finish with glitter. They were beautiful! The line moved very quickly and we had 8 in our party!

I looked at the Halloween Party map from last year and they do not list it as a feature, I don't know if it is something that they randomly do? Maybe the Disney info tel# would know? This might be a good question for the podcast crew.

I also have a question regarding halloween costumes. We are taking half the day off, then going to the MK at 4 to get in with our MNSSHP tickets. Are there alot of people using the early entry already dressed up? I would like to just put on my costume before we leave from the hotel, but don't really want to have to wear it around the park between 4 and 7 if I am going to get funny looks.

TIA!
