Can anyone come up with a Halloween costume idea for me? I don't want to spend the money buying one but my niece called (she is 11) and asked me what I am going to dress as. I was at their house last year as a baseball player -just wore a baseball T-shirt and hat. I was told it was pretty lame -it was! But, they know I love baseball so they tolerated it. So if you can think of something easy, preferably without buying much please let me know!

My boss randomly stapled pieces of cotton batting to a clear rain poncho. She carried a water spray bottle. She was cloudy with a chance of rain.

Yellow and black rugby shirt, black pants, wings & antennae and poof! You're a bumblebee.

Both great ideas but I don't have any of the right clothes!

Disney tourist?

Bath robe and slippers?

Do you have black shirt and pants? Black cat?? I don't know what you could do for ears - oh, black constuction paper....round headband with ears stapled on.

Laundry basket - cut hole in bottom of basket so it can fit on front and back of you....I guess you could use string or yarn tied to it over your shoulders to hold it up...fill with clothes.

You could staple cotton onto a upside down trashbag with hole for head and arms...

I got it. White button down shirt with a funky tie tied all wrong. Put tape on your glasses and a wear a pair of suspenders AND a belt with your pants which, of course, are hiked up as high as you can get them. Add a pair of ugly argyle socks and there you go. Instant nerd. :teeth:

The last couple of posts have possibilities. I almost always have a camera so maybe the Disney Tourist. On the other had, it sure would be nice to put on Jammies early without someone thinking it was weird!! The pants hiked up remind me of another nephew who hikes up his and says "I'm Poppa" hmm maybe I can go as Poppa!! I will be working next to Party City tomorrow -IF I can get a break I may see if there is something cheap I can work with.

I am downloading Disney Boo to You and other Disney Halloween music so at least my music should be cool. (If I remember to put it on my IPod and take my IPod to their house!) We were all there (my 2 nieces, nephew, brother, father and me) for the MNSSHP last year.

Thanks everyone!! And Boo to YOu!

There was a thread 2 or 3 days ago about dressing as a Disney tourist for a costume. One lady even posted a picture of herself when she did it. It sounded great to me, so that's what I'm going to be tomorrow. I'm going to wear/carry:

mouse ears
Disney t-shirt
WDW fanny pack
Disney messenger bag
WDW lanyard loaded with pins
WDW lanyard with disposable camera attached
carry a large WDW bag (I save these) with WDW rain ponchos inside
attach a refillable mug to my waist
carry park maps
carry autograph book & pen
stuffed Mickey attached to my messenger bag
WDW spray fan/mister on WDW lanyard

*That's all I can think of right now.

Here's what I dressed as this year and got the most laughs (remember, I WORK with 11 year olds)...

I wore a bathrobe/mumu and rollers in my hair...I sewed a small beanie dog to my rear end and made a sign that I just pinned on the front said "Lost Dog...Reward!" It's from a farside cartoon. The middle schoolers LOVED it and I gave each one a hug that said "what's my reward" (I said to each "a hug is the best reward of all").

I've done a woman in black before(ok I had just seen Walk the Line and got inspired)

This is what hubby and I did this weekend:

put smarties(the candies) on his pants=smarty pants

Put straight A report cards on my hiney= smart a..

Minimal amount of money...lots of giggles

I have also been a bowling ball...black garbage bag filled with balloons, white construction paper circles for the finger holes.

Okay, here's another idea
Wear a mans dress shirt, tie, boxer shorts and a trench coat, go as a flasher!!

I did this a few years ago and got some laughs!! :thumbsup2

I have a list I made out yesterday because my DD decided at the last minute that she wanted to dress up ! these are all easy and quick to do !

Web Pages..... glue pages onto black sweats and add spider webs

Autograph book....wear white sweat suit and have a big sharpie for people to sign you

Master Card add....Wear whatever clothing you choose. Attach a sign to your back that says "Shirt: $30...Jeans: $50...Shoes: $70......Halloween costume that took minimal effort: Priceless.

# Attack Dog Trainer...... Take a stuffed dog and sew it to the arm of a long-sleeved shirt so it looks like it is biting you. Wear a name tag ("Bob's Attack Dog School). Add blood and scratches all over your body.

# Little Dead Riding Hood.....Wear the usual Little Red Riding Hood Costume and then use fake scars, wounds and blood to make it look like the Big Bad Wolf got you. Don't forget your basket!!

# Lead Role from the Movie "The Birds"...... Wear an old green dress or skirt and jacket, and attach fake birds (available from a craft store) pecking you all over. Tease your hair and add scratches and blood dripping from wherever birds are pecking you.

# Exterminator...... Wear some old work clothes, and attach a name tag that says "Orkin" or some other exterminator company. Glue fake bugs, rats, etc. all over yourself. Carry a flyswatter.

# Dead Hockey Player..... Wear a hockey uniform and carry a hockey stick. Cut a foam puck into a moon shape and attach it to your forehead using double-sided tape. Add lots of blood around the embedded puck.

# Little White Lie...... Wear all white and pin little notes all over yourself that say things like "the check's in the mail," "your baby is so cute," "you look great in that dress," and "you don't look fat."

# Clark Kent AKA Superman....... Wear a Superman shirt with the classic "S" on the chest. Then over it, wear a suit, and pin the shirt open, revealing the "S." Add black-rimmed glasses to complete the look.

Witch Doctor....... Wear surgical scrubs and a white lab coat with a witch's hat. Add witchy make-up and carry a broom or a stethoscope.

# Killer Bee....... Spray paint black horizontal stripes across a yellow t-shirt. Add fake antennas (Styrofoam balls on wire secured to a plastic head band). Wear with camouflage pants, combat boots, ammo bandoliers, and a couple of fake pistols stuck in your belt

My DS works in a restaurant and they got to dress up today. He wore a blue sweatshirt, jeans, and had a chicken (beanie baby) tied around his neck and hanging down. He was "chicken cord on blue"!! Easy and cute, especially for working in a restaurant! :thumbsup2
