Is it possible to do a trip and see both the Halloween and Christmas decorations and parties? If so, would the trip need to be a week long? Or would 4 days do the trick?

In 2012, the last Halloween party was November 2 and the first Christmas party was November 9. We did both parties on that trip, although the Halloween party merchandise was sold out.

I believe last year the last Halloween party was November 1 and the first Christmas party was November 8.

That's correct. We were there Oct 28th-Nov 5th. Did 2 Halloween parties (Oct 29 and 31) then went back to the MK on Nov 2nd and it was Christmas (mostly just on Main Street).

They will start putting up Christmas stuff at MK immediately after the last MNSSHP. They may not get all of it up property-wide (they put up a LOT of Christmas decorations!), but you will definitely see some a lot of it in the week right after Halloween.

I'm asking because my sister is interested. She has seen the Halloween decorations many times, but never Christmas. She was wondering if it was possible to see both. But maybe to get the full effect of Christmas she should wait until later on in the year?

I would say to wait if she wants to see the Christmas decorations. The other parks and resorts are a little later. HS especially is worth seeing at Christmas.

If she wants the full on Christmas experience, she should wait til after Thanksgiving. Then Holidays Around the World, CP and all the decorations will be up and running. This time is always when we go. My younger kids think that the Castle always looks like that (decorated for Xmas), lol. They’ve been almost yearly, but we always go late Nov/early Dec.

To see the switch over on decorations at MK you only need two days. Go to MK on the day of the last party or attend the party, and then go to MK the very next day and you'll see the switch.

However, as others have said, to see the full-on Christmas decorations throughout all the parks and resorts, you need to wait until after Thanksgiving.
