Work commitments will prevent us from our annual November - December trip to WDW. We can go the last week of October which means our first visit during Mickey's Not Very Scary Halloween. We've never been and I guess I'm looking for the idiots guide to tickets, what to do, not do etc.

We'll be staying off site at our timeshare so I'm more concerned about ADR's, halloween happenings etc.

Any experience with DING fares from BUF to MCO or TPA that time of year would be helpful as well.

I'll begin searching old threads but any help you can provide would be appreciated.

thanks for any help

all i can tell ya is MNSSHP tix are supposed to go on sale monday!

I went to WDW in October 2004. We did MNSSHP, and it was my
DD's (age 7 then) favorite thing we have ever done at WDW. She loved wearing her Belle costume to the park. She loved Trick-or-Treating. It was great.

Other than a few decorations, MNSSHP was the only special event that we saw or found on these boards for Halloween. Everything else was the same as the rest of the year. The Food and Wine Festival was going on at Epcot, but that isn't Halloween related. Still, IMO it's a "Do Not Miss", especially for the adults. We didn't plan a meal for that day. We ate our way around the World, stopping at the diffferent Festival stops and tried things we have never even heard of. By the time we made it all the way around, we were absolutely stuffed.

The best part, the crowds were almost non-existent. We were there ten days, did every ride and attraction in all four parks, and did not stand in line for more than five or ten minutes for anything. We stayed in MK one night until closing and the exit out and wait for the buses were crowded. Spectro Magic that same night was crowded on Main Street, but some of our party watched it from somewhere over in the Liberty Square or Frontier Land area, and they said there were not many people over there at all.

I hope your family has as a great a trip as we did. That was probably the best vacation our family has ever taken.

MNSSHP is a must see for everyone. It is a wonderful experience and the parade IMO is the best parade that WDW has going for it.
Best of all you can dress up as your favourite character and get free candy.
:cool1: :yay: :yay:

PS: tickets just went on sale and I have mine for Sept 29.

We did the party a few years ago and loved it. Our DS's were only 5 & 3 at the time. We plan on going back when they are older so we can stay until midnight. :)

The fireworks during MNSSHP are absolutely fantastic. Many castmembers gave us the tip to stand in front of the castle, I'm glad we did. It rained a bit the night we went, so I was glad we wore Halloween themed t-shirts instead of full costumes. You get a TON of candy. Our bags were stuffed. Make your ADRs as soon as you can. We ate at Tony's town square. We all had the Salmon, which we loved. Probably the only nutritious thing we ate all night!

:thumbsup2

You can call now and get tickets. Make sure when they arrive they are for the correct date. Ours were incorrect, so we had to send them back to Disney and they sent out tickets for the correct date.

Have fun!

i went to the halloween party for the first time last year, 2005, It was so good, I am over 30 and I dressed up as Ariel, there were 10 of us in all and they asked us to be Grand Marshalls, It was one of the Best Disney Experiences we've ever had. So dress up, the kids and yourselves. You won't be alone. we had so much fun that we bought tickets for 2 nights later and went again. The parade is awesome.

thanks to all for your great advice and encouragement. Called last night and bought our tickets for Oct 31 and got 5:15 ressies for LTT as well ... now to get planning costumes pirate:
