What's it like on Halloween at WDW? Do they do anything like hand out treats? My kids would revolt if I told them we were going to not go trick or treating for Halloween-even to go to Disneyworld. We are flexible for our fall trip but I thought Halloween would be fun. :hmghost:

Go over to the resorts board and do a search of MNSSHP. We have done this twice and both times the kids thought it was the best way to do halloween. You have to buy seperate tix;MK closes early and they reopen for Mickeys Not So Scary Halloween Party. Their is a greta parade, rides, fireworks and of couse trick-or-treating. Hope this helps.

how crowded is it at halloween? just wondering if it's worth it to go. i have no kids, but am trying to figure out when is best to go in the fall when it's not packed. just did christmas week there and wow - some days we were unable to walk, lol.

So THAT"S what MNSSHP stands for!!!!!!!!!!!! :rotfl2: I have figured most of the abbrev. out except that one...(Obviously I am a newbie :teeth: ) So how busy is it at WDW this time of year and is it just on Halloween itself or before and afterwards?

It's a great time to come. Our kids love the Halloween party so much that we went twice this year. Universal's halloween party is good as well but seriously scary. The DVC resorts are often packed because of the food and wine festival but the weather is nice and I don't think the other parks are too crowded. Go for it.

MNSSHP had a great time. Also it's F&W time, what else can you ask for.

The F&W Festival combined with MNSSHP, make Halloween our favorite time of year at WDW. :smokin:

MG

Ours too. We were there this past Oct 14-21 and didn't find MNSSHP all that crowded. Apparently Halloween night is always a sell out.

Hey Disney Girl, we were there the same time - loved that time of year, low crowds at MK !!

We did MNSSHP on Oct 28th a friday we road all the rides and loaded up all 3 bags of candy.I didn't think it was that crowded at all .
Boy was it fun we are doing X-mas this year and will alternate from year to year.

I've booked us to go to WDW for MNSSHP and F&W this year (Oh, and then we are going back Dec 31 for new years)... :) Looking forward to MNSSHP. We went to DL for MHT (Mickey's Halloween Treat) last year and were a bit disappointing because we were expecting it to be something similar to what we read about for MNSSHP. :confused3

Now, if only WDW did the Nightmare before Xmas overlay for the haunted mansion!!!!! :goodvibes

Now wouldn't that be AWESOME!

It's my fav time to go!

If you want to go for Halloween Night and go to MNSSHP, buy your tix the day that they sell. That is the first night to sell out!

This year will be the best! Member Cruise! F&W! MNNSHP! :woohoo: :woohoo:

Don't forget to make your ADR for Liberty Tree Tavern at the same time! The characters are dressed up there! Also, if you wait until 4:00 pm, you can get in without using a day up on your pass! Unless of you have AP then it doesn't really matter!

It's Fun! :yay: :yay:

I think there's also some sort of Halloween parade along the Boardwalk, or at least there has been some years in the past.

We went to MNSSHP on Halloween in the past and enjoyed it. We didn't feel crushed or anything, and really the Halloween Wishes that they now have is spectacular!!

He Scuba I heard they are maybe doing a NBX overlay in MGM this year.Trying to bring more Holloween theaming to other parks.

We had a blast at MNSSHP in 2004. We were there on Halloween night. It was a sell out but not too bad. The streets were really crowded but the rides were basically walkons. We did avoid the first parade and did the second. The fireworks were amazing. We ended up with tons of candy. We left a ton of it behind for mousekeeping. We would love to go back!!! :thumbsup2

I went last year and had a blast. It's not at all crowded, relatively speaking, and the candy they give away is the good stuff. I, too, found most of the rides were walk-on (except Haunted Mansion, which had a 15-minute line). My sister's girls dressed in costumes; we did not. We're going again this year and may dress up along with the girls. Go. Have fun. Wear costumes. It's so-o-o-o-o worth it.

We went to MNSSHP in 2005 and loved it. DH and I went dressed as Peter Pan & Wendy. We don't have kids yet, but still had a ton of fun and would love to take kids in the future. We were able to get on a ton of rides, had our picture taken, watched the great parade & fireworks, and got a lot of candy.

On Halloween in 2004, we couldn't go to MNSSHP because it was sold out. We went over to the Boardwalk and they had a party going on. They had cookies to frost, dancing, and trick-or-treating. Downtown Disney also had trick-or-treating.
