My 7-year old son is very sensitive to "scary" Halloween images. As in - he LOVES Space Mountain, but come October, refuses to ride on it as Ghost Galaxy because of the images.

The first week in October, Oct 3-7, we'll choose both parks, or one of the other, to add on to our DL trip. I'm looking to see if either runs towards the gory/scary/creepy, that might not be very child-friendly.

I do hope to avoid the beginning of Halloween crowds, and hopefully will miss any/all Halloween parties!! (We avoid the Halloween party nights in DL too).
Thanks!

Knott's has Knott's Spooky Farm: "For Halloween fun for everyone on weekends in October, Knott's Spooky Farm offers a daytime, non-scare celebration of cheer rather than fear. Festive shows, activities, and decorations make this a spook-tacular destination for kids ages 3-11." As soon as it gets dark, it's Knott's Scary Farm which is definitely for the older, more heart-strong crowd.

Universal has Horror Nights, along the same lines as Knott's nighttime. It doesn't give any details about dates or hours for that though. Orlando has dates of Select Nights Sept 16 though Oct 31.

Both of the night time events are 'bloodier the better' atmosoheres. I've never been during the day to see if it really is contained to just night time.

Knotts and Universal are fine during the day time. Knotts is mostly big coasters and other extreme thrill rides although there is plenty of tamer rides.
Both are intended for teens and adults only after dark on the Halloween horror nights.
