Halloween at DL

My family and I will be going to DL sometime after the summer. I'm trying to work out dates that will be best for us. I was wondering if DL does anything special for Halloween. I know Haunted Mansion is dressed up, but what about the actual day? THe kids are really excited about spending Halloween at DL and I'd like to get all the info I can. Would the kids be able to wear costumes? Is there anything special planned for that day?
Also, any info on weather or crowds at that time (sept, oct, nov) would be fantastic. TIA

Yes several rides have special touches and they trick or treat on Main Street, or at least they did last time we went (which was several years ago). Some people really go all out with dressing up so that is always fun to see.

I believe its from early October through the begining of January they have the Haunted Mansion done up like Nightmare before Christmas. The sweetpea and I have gone the last few years and we love it. Its nice to see the ride done up differently. My newphew is a Nightmare freak and wouldn't go on the ride otherwise.
