We will be At WDW on Halloween. As of now we are not planning on doing the MNSSHP . Do any other places at Disney World like resorts, or Downtown Disney do anything for halloween? I know the MNSSHP would be a neat experience but that's a lot of extra money for our family of 5. Just wondering if there was anything else to do on Halloween. Thanks in advance

There aren't a lot of non-MNSSHP Halloween based activities, but there are some.
  • Many of the resorts will have carved pumpkins displays in their lobby (designed by the different staff departments and guests get to vote for their favorite).
  • DTD might have some decorations up (no trick or treating).
  • FW tends to have guests that decorate their camp sites.
  • I've also read that the Boardwalk does some Halloween activities.

Last year, DisneyQuest had a paid Halloween event on Halloween night. It was $45 in advance or $54 at the door (no child price) and ran from 6-11 pm.

You'll see some guests dressed up, but not many because AK, DHS, and Epcot still enforce the rules about costumes.

DisneyQuest at DTD hosts a party that has snacks, dance parties, trick-or-treating and characters. It's a ticketed event so it does cost money but the tickets are less than those for MNSSHP. The resorts offer trick-or-treating, characters, and Halloween-themed activities.

Thank you very much. Is the MNSSHP worth the price of the tickets on halloween they are $72. It sounds like fun but for a family of 5 that's a lot of money just wondering if the experience is worth it.

I just bought ours, we also are a family of five! I have done MNSSHP before (2012) never on Halloween. At first I said, "we've done it before" and "it's too expensive", but I had to...we just loved it! It was all of our favorite part of vacation. Absolutely magical, the fireworks are amazing! In my opinion it is worth it, but probably not for everyone.

You can of course see the fireworks from the Contemporary hotel and the beach at the Polynesian. Completely by chance we were arriving for dinner at the California Grill a few years ago as the Halloween fireworks started and we ran out to the balcony on the floor with the shops at the Contemporary to watch them (with music), I wish I'd got an earlier reservation so we were watching from the restaurant!

But it is up, to you as I'm not sure if it is worth a special trip to the hotel just to watch them, kids might wind up asking "why aren't we in the park watching?".

I have done MNNSHP on Halloween and it was so much fun. I figured it was worth the price since that was our arrival day and we didn't buy a ticket for the day for another park.

It was crowded, but we hit all of the candy stations during the party. We even saw CM's at the one station take the bags and fill them up for kids and then hand them another bag so they can get them filled up at other stations. My friends and I each got back to the hotel with 2 1/2 lbs of candy. We got a great spot for the second parade and for the fireworks. We didn't do any of the character meets, but we did hit the HM and POTC. We had a great time walking around looking at all the cool costumes people had on too.

We really loved it when we went but yeah it is super expensive! We had a blast though.
