Is there Trick or Treating in the parks Halloween week or is it only during the MNSSHP that kids can trick or treat in the park? I think it would be so much fun for our girls to trick or treat there but don't really want to pay for the whole family to attend the party for just a few hours. Also, are the decorations around the park "halloween" themed in Oct or is there just a general Fall decor for Oct/Nov? Thanks for any info you have. I am still trying to decide between Sept/Oct/Nov for our trip. :confused3

We will be there 10/10 - 10/17 and I don't know the answers to your questions. Glad that you asked.

Trick or treating in the park is only during the party. In recent years Disney has had trick or treating on Halloween at DTD.

Hi-
Just at the party which is worth the extra ticket cost, it is amazing and the whole reason I go 2x a year now. The only trick or treating is on Halloween outside the party in DTD and certain resorts have special activities on the 31st.

When we were there in Oct 2006. I only noticed major halloween decoration on MNSSHP days. The party was well worth the extra money in my opinion, we are planning on returing in Sept 2009. My kids were 5 and 9 on the last trip. The parade alone is worth seeing!

My little one was so tired at the end of the night from dancing with the characters, she fell asleep!
The adults in our group were WDW Survivors..We are big fans of the Survivor show.

We went last year on Halloween night, and my kids are still asking to go back and do it again. As for the party being just a few hours, we were talking with a cast member a few days before Halloween night, and found out that even though the ticket says you can enter at 4:00 pm that we could enter a few hours early. It was well worth it. We had a few hours to go on our favorite rides, and had more than enough time to trick or treat - some rides remained open during the trick or treat party, and the lines were not long at all. Another great feature is that they set up quite a few character greeting spots, which are usually along trick or treat routes. I would definitely recommed going, and be sure to go in costume (audlts too - we can trick or treat too), as it makes for a much more enjoyable evening.
