Halloween 2011 dates Q?

It says TBD for 2011, Im a dvc member and need to book far in advance if I want a room at the GCV's. This is one of our to do's on our list is to go around halloween. I noticed this past year 2010 it was on Fri and Tues nights. Not sure what it was before than? Do you think we would be safe to book from 10/21 Fri-10/26 Wed?

We stayed in a 1 bedroom last Oct. 17th-22nd. and did the halloween party on the 19th. I believe we didn't book the room until around May so I think you will have time to work out the details. The party was a blast and we want to do it again this year. Good luck!

I haven't had much luck with booking the rooms at VGC this past year all the dates I wanted the villas were solid booked. So I am going to use my 11 month window to get the exact dates I want this time around! I have Fri, weekend and Tues covered so I think it will work out (fingers crossed).

They generally do it twice a week, so you should be good. There is no word on whether the party will be at DL again this year, or return to DCA.

I agree the OP should be good. The parties were very packed so if anything they might do them more nights. In WDW they run them more often over a longer period and I think DLR wants to cash in on the events also.

I've already booked for October...I just made sure to include a Friday night in my stay thinking that the party would surely be held then.I'll be there the 19th - 22.

I cancelled a one bedroom for the week of the 16th the other day and moved to 9/26-10/2. My boys want to go to the last Angels games during our trip as they play the Rangers. I am hoping there will be a party that Fri. or Sat. Before we leave. There were several one bedrooms available at that time for my week.

You should make it for the first party (usually around Oct. 1). Forewarning, the first party tends to be busier and sells out the quickest.

The party tends to start on the first Friday in October, whatever that date may be. However, this year the dates may be a little askew. I wonder if it will begin on the last Friday in September, or on Friday, October 7th, which seems kind of late in the month, in my opinion.

My family and I went last oct for the halloween party around oct 7 and it was busy but still fun..we went prior yrs in cal adv and liked it better because there was too much ground to cover in DL when u are dressed up and trying to see everything. Hopefully this yr it will be alittle more organized and condensed so theres still alot to do butnot all over the place. The price to get in to the party was like 50 or 60 a person this last oct(2010) we really enjoyed ourselves and liked dressing up and trick r treating

I believe the earlier weekend was busier this year due to a number of events going on (CHOC walk, etc). We did Halloween weekend in 2009 and it was very manageable.

Thanks for all the info! its so hard to plan ahead like this with DVC when dates aren't released yet. If I wait to long I can't get any rooms as it books up fast. I rebooked our room for 10/10(mon)-10/15(sat) as hubby doesn't want to be there on Halloween. He saw on the news a few days ago that DL shut down due to crowds for new years so now he thinks it's going to happen all time!!!!
