Hi Everyone,

My name's Keri, I'm 35, married to Aaron mum of one wee lassie named Anna, aged almost 11, we lived in the Bay Area for 6 years and returned to Scotland 3 years ago, are now in the middle of planning our first vacation back to CA since we returned to Scotland. Phew, I typed all that without taking a breath :)

Anyways!! We used to visit DL & DC 2-3 times a year, but of course haven't been since October 2003, when Anna was only 7. Have a few days planned there as part of our trip in July, very very VERY excited to be visiting and playing with the Mouse again. We're staying at Sheraton Anaheim.

Soooooo.....what's changed? What's new? Tell me tell me! Looking forward to chatting with you all :goodvibes

Luv Keri xxx

Since 2003....

New things to consider at DL:

Refurbed Space Mtn :thumbsup2
Changed POTC
Submarine Voyage (Finding Nemo) after June 11
Pirate's Lair at Tom Sawyer Island (after May 24)
Buzz Lightyear AstroBlasters
Remember Dreams Come True fireworks/laser/special effects show :thumbsup2
Parade of Dreams

New things to consider at DCA:

Tower of Terror
Turtle Talk With Crush
Monsters Inc
Block Party Bash (parade/show)
High School Musical Pep Rally

Don't know if Anna is into the Star Wars movies or not, but they also have a new Jedi Knight Training Academy that allows some kids to be selected to become trained Jedi Knights. Rumors have it that it is a lot of fun for the kids and I know mine are looking forward to it.

There's also the Princess Fantasy Faire. I haven't been, but I have read some good things about it.

The princess meals at Ariel are new since then too, right? Didn't used to be Captain Mickey's or something like that?

Hello from the Bay Area!

Crowds may have been lower in 2003. I believe it was shortly after 2003 that EE came back. You can make more PS arrangements now, and they are a must for character meals and Blue Bayou.

Hey!!!! I'm moving to Scotland in 4 weeks! And then in November we're making our trip to Disneyland so you'll have to let me know how the flights are from Scotland to California.
You're going to have an amazing time in Disneyland for sure, I can't think of what else is new besides what's already been mentioned but don't forget to have a corndog from the red wagon. Well actually you might see a few new characters, I'm not sure if Pirates was around in 2003 but Captain Jack roams around the park and I heard that meet the robinson characters are there now too.

Thanks guys!! What is the Princess fantasy faire and what's EE? Forgive my ignorance ;)!!! Hi Xtinabell, where are you moving to? Will it be your first time in Scotland? It'll be quite a change for you!!

EE = early entry. They let you in on certain days an hour early. I can't remembebr the exact days, but I think it is 4 or 5 days of the week.

We're moving to Aberdeen, hubby is being transferred within his company. It will be our first time in Scotland, I'm quite nervous but really excited. I have no idea what to expect.

The princess Fantasy Faire is where you can line up and meet the princesses, they change off and on, so when you first get in line there might be snow white and sleeping beauty but by the time it's your turn it might be, say Cinderella and Pocahontas now. You can also pay to have your daughters hair done up like a princess complete with a tiarra, I think they also do a story or something because they have stage area. I know they also teach the kids how to curtsy like a princess and I think dance like a princess but I can't quite remember.

EE, usually available on Mon, Tue, Thur, and Sat, allows some guests to enter the park one hour before scheduled opening. Most 3+ day parkhoppers come with one EE, and guests of the Disney hotels are eligible for EE any day it is available during their stay. Most of Fantasyland and some of Tomorrowland is open during EE.

It was Ariel's in 2003. Cap'n Mickey's came in about the fall of 04 and was very short lived. They never even changed the exterior sign. However, in 2003, Ariel's was not totally princesses. Ariel was in fins, got wheeled around and then Minnie, Goofy, Mickey and sometimes Donald all circulated dressed in nautical clothes.

Forgot to tell the OP that in addition to all the refurbbed and new rides, there is a different parade, no longer the Parade of the Stars but the Parade of Dreams. Which is a much better, more elaborate parade. In general the whole park is just more spruced up and fresher looking. Its also a lot more crowded! I think you'll feel like your returning to something familar but also different (in a good way). Have a great trip!
