When will Hall of Presidents close for the addition of President-Elect Biden?

We are going in January and the Hall is always a must do for us-so inspiring.

Assuming Biden holds on through the challenges, late January last time.

?? It didn't reopen until December, 2017, after a year-long renovation.

Other years with a new president it has taken usually until summer after inauguration.

it will depend if the redo the actual show. The longer closure periods were partly because there was a new show. The years where they just change the president position and record the audio for the speech it takes only through July 4th
Once the candidates are announced the sculptor starts working on the bust so they actually don't wait for a winner, they have the head ready by election night. There has been no word if the actual show will change next year

There were several other long-standing mechanical issues with the attraction that they needed to address (as well as several delays with the refurbishment itself), which is why it was closed so long.

Disney usually begins sculpting models for both candidates (or in this case, the challenger since the incumbent already has a figure) before the actual election. They then proceed with the full buildout of the figure after the election. Depending on attendance projections and the extent of the work planned, they estimate a closure date, though usually January. Not sure if COVID-19 has affected this process at all, but I wouldn't expect any major re-tooling of the show this time, just new audio and a new figure for the president-elect.

I also would imagine Disney will move forward with this on their usual timeline and not worry about any challenges to the outcome.

Right, I understand why the closure was longer in 2017. My comment was directed at @dsanner106's response that it was late January.

Does that mean there is a Ross Perot head floating around Disney Archives?!

Can you imagine stumbling upon that  Someone might misidentify it as Dumbo, since he has really big ears:rotfl2:

It seems like it was closed during both of our prior trips, Dec 2013 and Dec 2017. Hoping to finally get to go this time.
