Halfboard vouchers question

Hello all!

I am just starting to plan our 3-nights DLRP December trip. I am not sure about the HB vouchers... as we are staying (hopefully!) at the DLH, they have to be Premium HB, costing 44€ per adult per night, plus another 15€ per night for our 4yo (the 2yo is free, apparently).

My question is: let's say I go to Walt's for lunch, and I don't like the choices in the HB menu selection. I think I can use the voucher value to pay part of the bill, but how much of that?? I mean, I don't suppose I can use the whole 44€ value per person, as that would leave me with a free dinner for that day?

Any help to clear my mudded mind will be welcome

Hi, we are staying at the DLH and we have opted for the halfboard plus rather than the premium. You don't have to have the premium. As far as I'm aware, if you eat 'off menu', you just pay the difference - other people will be able to advise you on this.

If you use your vouchers at face value, and your meal doesn't cost that much, you still get no refund on the voucher.

Your vouchers have to be used in the duration of your stay also, but you can use 2 in one day if you prefer etc.

I used half board plus on our recent trip, and would definitely do so again.

We had half boad standard when we stayed at the cheyenne in april. When we went to the restaurants you could either eat off the vouchers menu and hand your voucher in to pay in full, or you could order what ever you wanted and if the meal came to more you would just pay the difference.

For instance, with half board premium the voucher is worth 44 euro, so if your bill came to 50euro you would hand over your voucher plus six euro. if the bill came to 30 euro you could choose to either use your voucher (you would not get a refund if the cost of the meal is less than the voucher) or you could just pay with cash and use the voucher ofr a different meal.

Oh I never realised you could do that ... order a normal meal off the menu and use your voucher towards the cost... I didnt do that at all last year lol.

Am I right in thinking that most of the hotels listed in the half board plus list, have a buffet?? or only certain places??? ( I only know of Hotel new york where we ate last year)

Do any of the restaurants have the buffet option???

Cape Cod at NBC is a buffet (and a really really good one too), Hunters Grill at SL is buffet starter and dessert, Billy Bobs in the Village is a buffet. Beavers Creek tavern at SL may also be a buffet?

HB plus also covers plaza gardens and the lucky nugget which are both buffets as well (they are in the park.)

Oooooo I was thinking about booking at Lucky Nuggett !! Will try find out more about that, as I never knew that existed last year LOL!!..

Are the characters there all day? or best to go at a certain time?

Its only open at certain times of day, for certain meals.

ie its open noon until 3pm for character buffet lunch, and then in the afternoon, again at a set time, for the character tea party.

We really enjoyed our character lunch at the Lucky Nugget - an hour and half very well spent

I think you can only purchase the half board vouchers when you are booking the hotel, it gave me the option to choose when booking

You can book vouchers up to one day before you leave for Disney.

You get one voucher for each member of your party for each day you are there. Some restaurants take the vouchers but offer a limited menu but you can also use the vouchers at face value to get food off the regular menu.

At least thats how I think it works.

Also anybody know the face value of the HB Plus vouchers?

HB plus face value is 25 euros per adult voucher.

In the main Park, Walts, Lucky Nugget, and Silver Spur are all included on the HB plus plan.
