Well we're back from another great visit to DLP! We had really fantastic time. It's always great to have so much family fun together.

Thought i'd share a few quick highs and lows while i'm waiting for the washing machine to finish :laundy:rotfl:

Highs

* Valentines Day's - Hotel's put up some decorations & the Characters even had special outfits. Disneyland Hotel had Belle & the beast doing character meets too.
* EMH - Finally manage to drag ourselves out of bed early and it was defiantly worth it :thumbsup2
* Great room in the New York looking out over Gramacy Park and Cafe Mickey
* New York City Bar & Redwood Bars - Great atmosphere in both & Yummy cocktails
* Weather being not bad for time of year and certainly better than forecast
* Jack having fun collecting character autographs. So glad I made a personalised book as the characters loved it.
* Shareholders discount - made some great savings on meals and purchases.
* Getting everything done off our to do list!

Lows -

* Invention Restaurant - Don't know whether we built this up in our heads too much but we were soooo disappointed. Not worth the money, will stick to Cafe Mickey for character meal in future.
* Salon Mickey never having any patries let - Come on own up, who ate them all :lmao:
* Jack bursting out into tears again when we got back to London :sad1:

We really did have a great visit. I've said this before but the fact everything is so close together in DLP makes it so easy to get stuff done. We found the staff friendly and had no issues with smoking except the last day when the French half term started. We also didn't have any issued with toilets, just the occasionally one with the loo hadn't been flushed (I'm guessing this is children :confused3).

welcome back, so glad to hear you had a great time. Thanks for sharing highs and lows, I love reading them! :goodvibes

Glad you had a good time. We were there same time. Bit gutted that you saw Belle and the Beast in DLH on 14th. We were in the auberge with my daughter in the hope she would be there (but no!). Any how we did track her down in the pavillion in the end!

You're right about the weather. Much better than anticipated!

Welcome back - glad you had lovely time again. :goodvibes

oops sorry!! we managed 3 a day between the 2 of us!! there were always plenty there when we went in (14th - 16th) and the place was quite empty guess we just timed it well!

welcome back :goodvibes

why did Inventions disappoint you?

Glad you had a good trip. Isn't the Redwood Bar great :cloud9:

Do you mind if I ask what disappointed you about Inventions too?

It was my favourite meal & am looking forward to going again in March.

I think it was a combination of things with Inventions. We arrived at 1930 and we seated promptly in a little area just off the main buffet room. There was only about six tables in this area for the waiter to handle yet it took him a good 10 mins or so to acknowledge us and take drinks orders. He didn't speak the rest of the time we were there, just passed by to collect empty plates. Never asked if we wanted further drinks etc. We were glad to be in this small room though as by 8pm the main buffet room was absolute bedlam with people everywhere.

I'd always read about the great characters here and yet there we none to be seen anywhere for the first 20 minutes or so :confused3 Eventually, but boy did we have to drag our time out, we did see Mickey, Tigger, Gepetto & Chip, Dale walked passed patted our son on his head and carried on without stopping

The decor's pleasant but still a bit cafeteria style, not much ambience really.

The food was fine, nice variety but being a buffet it was warm not hot and a bit dishevelled. It was a tad above the quality of Plaza Gardens where we eaten the day before but bearing in mind our bill came in at €120 with shareholder discount and Plaza Garden's was only €58 I expect much better quality and service. Cafe Mickey last summer came in around €80 and I know it gets so so reviews but we had a really good meal there. The atmosphere more fun and we had loads of great characters. If Inventions had been along the same price as Cafe Mickey I think I wouldn't have minded.

Sorry this feels very ranty but we were on a real downer after leaving the restaurant.

Oh no! We are booked in to Inventions in two weeks I hope we are seated in the same place I will be asked to move I think! x

I was a bit disappointed with Inventions as well. The characters were great but for me the food was appalling for the money we paid. The seafood selection was lovely for me but none of the rest of our party eats seafood and we found the main course selection really poor (and cold!). Not much choice for kids either.

It sounds like you had a great time overall. Sorry to hear inventions wasn't all you expected, I keep thinking about going but I just don't think it could be enough better than our last meal at cafe mickey to justify the price.
