Is anyone going to be at Disney for the Wine and Dine Marathon weekend? My daughter is racing in the half marathon so the whole family is going down to root her on. I have one more person that is coming last minute. We bought tickets for the half marathon after party, but now I see that they are sold out. Anyone have any ideas of how I might get a last minute ticket?
I'm really looking forward to it. It will be our first marathon weekend.

I'm running! I would try posting in the WISH part of the forums, and there are also a few FB groups that have members that might have extra tickets. Not sure how else to get a ticket though :(

It's my favorite race weekend, have a great time!

Your daughter is in for an incredible time! DH ran the half marathon a couple years ago. There were characters in every park, the Tree of Life was lit up, it was beautiful! DH said that Disney had so much to see around every turn that it felt like the quickest half marathon he ever ran. Here's a tip for you. When he ran it, they didn't allow anyone at the start or finish except for the runners. So I walked out the International Gateway and along with many other people, watched the runners and cheered them on. Looking for someone particular, you could look across the water at the bridge by the Swan/Dolphin (make sure you know what DD is wearing) and then have your camera ready.

Thanks for the hint, Simba's Mom.

DS is running, DDIL was supposed to but she's in pain from a health problem. I sent DS your thoughts on how interesting the run was!

Will you be there this year?

Hi,

Thank you for all the tips. I am beginning to get very excited. This will be our first marathon experience. What is an FB group? Thanks again for the great tips!pixiedust::jumping1:

I will be "running"! I just decided to become a runner last year. I went from barely being able to go a half-mile to signing up for a half-marathon! What was I thinking?! DH is going to do it too so we are leaving the kids with the grandparents. It will be my 4th visit to F&W and the first time for DH!

We are staying at AKV and I am so excited! The running part has me a little anxious and I will have to restrain myself from a drinking and eating standpoint until after the race;). It's a trip I've been planning for almost a year and I can't beeline how far I've come! A 5K seemed like a huge goal last year. Once I conquered that distance, the half-marathon came into my sights. I am already seriously considering a 25K for next spring.
