I'm very new to half.com. I've sold two college books so far. Anyway, one of the envelopes for one of the books I sold was returned to me. The book that was sent with it is lost. I filed a thing with the usps to find the book or give me the money back. The buyer wants me to refund her because she no longer needs the book. What should I do? I've never had this happen to me before. Do I just refund her total cost including shipping or should I tell her to wait to I make sure I get my money back as well?

On Half everything is pretty much your responsibility. I would refund her money plus shipping thentake issue with the post office. I just had someone complain that they never received the $40 text book I sent. I never got it returned to me but I refunded their purchase price and shipping and I didn't pay for insurance or tracking so I don't even have recourse with the post office. You win some, you lose some!

Another thing I forgot to add is the buyer didn't pay for insurance. I did pay for the insurance and also spent extra for shipping materials.

On Half they don't have the option for insurance, they pay a flat fee and can expect that you will deliever the book or a refund. You decide if you want to insure for your own safety for this type of issue.
