Hi,

Am I right in thinking that you can use the Half board plus vouchers at face value against your meal at Cafe Mickey?

If so do you hand them over at the end of your meal like cash or do you tell the CM/waiter before you start to order?

Also please can someone tell me the after April 2009 value of the half board plus vouchers?

Thanking you...

No-one knows what the half board vouchers will be worth at face value after April :confused3 .
My next trip is in May, and I'm not making a decision on the half board vouchers until after April, when hopefully folk here will have been, used their vouchers at face value, and come back to report what face value they have been given. Hopefully the face value will be similar to what they are at the moment.

Can't help with the values, but yes you can use them in Cafe Mickey at face value. We did this in January with no probs. We mentioned to the CM before the meal, but they weren't taken until the end.

OH and I got a main and a drink and kids got main, dessert and drink at lunchtime and we had under 10 Euros to pay at the end.

what kind of HB vouchers did you use? plus or premium?

Hiya

I don't remember exactly where I read it, or the exact values, but the current exchange rate that is used for the HB vouchers is around 1.4 euros to the pound (hence the reason they are such good value just now).
After April they will be using around 1.2 euros to the pound. Still better value than the current exchange rate.

From what I gather that means is that you will pay more for the vouchers in pounds but they will have the same value in euros when you are there.

So if you book HB now, it is better than booking it after April.

If you want to use it only as face value, there is no difference to buying them now or in April

The price goes up on the 2nd of April. For example, I had to pay £36 for HB Premium rather than the £31 it is now. Not sure if the face value is changing or not?

The price you pay in advance for your half board vouchers depends on when you are going to be at DLRP, not when you actually pay for your vouchers. If your trip to DLRP is after 3rd April 09, you will pay the increased price to buy your half board vouchers in advance, even if you actually pay for them now by adding them to your existing DLRP booking.

I asked the site where I booked the hotel, about Cafe Mickey and HB and they told me:
"For half board plus you have a choice of 17 restaurants. Café Mickey is not included for the plus option (only premium).

Café Mickey is open from 12-11pm and the characters are present from 12.15-2.45pm and 6.15-11pm. You can book this option without the half board for the cost of £48.00. When this has been added to your booking you may be given a phone number to call to reserve the time you wish to eat at the café or alternatively this can be done at the hotel on arrival. Full payment must be made at the time of adding the lunch or dinner.

:confused3

From what I have been lead to understand by a CMon the telephone I can use my half board + vouchers at face value in cafe mickey and just pay the extra in cash.

I used HB + vouchers in Cafe Mickey in February. Told the waiter and the beginning of meal but vouchers not taken until end. I had to pay 31 euros to my 78 euro bill as the vouchers covered the rest.

Hi euapap,

I think you may be getting confused because there are 2 ways to pay for a Cafe Mickey meal.
What do you actually want to do?

If you want to use half board vouchers at face value, you can do this at Cafe Mickey. If you have half board standard or half board plus vouchers, you can use these as part payment of your bill there, when you pay at the end of your meal.

If you want to pay for your Cafe Mickey meal in advance, you can't use half board vouchers for that, and you will be paying in advance for the set menu meal, which is 3 courses.

What do you actually want to do?
Trying to find out.
It's obvious for me that we can't do the HBpremium, so If we want to go to Cafe Mickey, we will have to use out HB vouchers at their face value.

I think even in this way, it is cheaper than booking and paying in advance for the set menu meal

am I right?

No, you are correct - for the restaurants you have chosen to use your half board premium vouchers in, your vouchers cover your meal totally :) .

Thank you !
I was totally lost with the vouchers / restaurants / meals covered ..
thanks again
