Hi, newbie here

Our family of 6 are heading of to DLP in February (booked today) and we're very excited. We've been offered a chance to add a "Half Board Plus" meal plan to our holiday, for £98 for all 6 of us (3 vouchers each).

Has anyine got any pearls of wisdom as to whether this is worth it ?

What's your experience ?

Thanks in advance

half board vouchers don't really save you any money - but if you would eat at a table/buffet service restaurant once a day on your stay, and you'd prefer to pay for those meals in advance, the vouchers might be useful from a purely budgeting point of view.
I don't add half board, as I personally don't think they're good value these days.

+1

Yes, these days, with the price increase of the vouchers, they're not a good value...Not at all :confused3

Hi snapdragon. Yaaay on booking a trip.

I always buy the meal vouchers as I always have a tight budget and it makes it easier to not overspend. Its less stress but as meantioned already not amazing value. Make sure to get the bill before giving vouchers as sometimes u may not need to use all of your vouchers at every meal

I bought them last year for the first time and was delighted with how they worked out! 98 for 6 people sounds extremely cheap???? Perhaps you have free meals included in your package and this is to upgrade them???

The plus ones allow you eat anywhere - Auberge, Inventions, California Grill which are seriously pricey - so think about where you want to eat, check out the prices then decide!

Have a super holiday! :banana::banana::banana::banana:

thats premium you're thinking of I think - plus is the middle option of the 3.

And when you use the vouchers to eat at the Cinderella's Auberge...The pictures-pack aren't included....

oops sorry about that - yes we upgraded to the premium! had forgotten there are 3 levels!

Thanks for clearing that up!

Thanks everyone for your help

It's £98 for 2 adults and 4 kids, so roughly in line with 29 Euros/adult and 12 Euros for the kids. It is £98 per day of course.

Having read lots about it, I think we're going to say no to this offer and just do our own thing - eat where we want to.

Pleased to have found this forum and will no doubt call on your collective experience at some other times during the planning of our trip.

Cheers

Back in 2008 it was worth it as they were alot cheaper however this time around we havent bothered for when we go in jan for a few reasons.

1. 9 times out of 10 we dont want 3 courses.
2. they put the price up alot
3. even with the face value exchange it isnt really worth it unless you really want those 3 courses.
4. if you use it for the set menus youre limited on choice.
