half board meal plans AFTER april 2009...

hi all
thought that id cost our a 'holiday' for halloween next year, and the half board rate im quoted is ALOT more than it was - so i think theyre putting up the prices

normally - it wud be £13 adult, and £6 child (making £114) but its quoting me £144 now!! (half board standard!!!!)

so - thats already £30 more, plus the holiday itself being an extra couple of hundred means theres very little chance we will be going now , as it wud be nearly £700 WITHOUT transport!!! and thats only cheyenne.....

and it didnt offer me any offers/deals/money off so guess theres nothing avail......

gonna go away now n hug my large minnie mouse as looks like thats the closest ill get to disney for a while....

A lot of people would struggle to find that sort of money - me included. I think they will price a lot of people out of going there.

I know if i add HB onto our sept bookinga 6 day stay for me and Kyra is just under £800. Guess if HB is going up then it means a extra god knows.

I bet a lot of people will be put off by those prices. DLRP is becoming a very expensive place to go for a short break. Hopefully no-one will book and then they will have to offer great deals!

thats what im hoping!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! was lookin forward to thinking about halloween, but now.... am gonna have to find sum way of a cheap hotel nr i guess....... but i stayin onsite (spoilt now )

I was dreaming about a return trip every year in January. That's all it will be - a dream. My Disneyphobic friend pointed out that for the price I paid for DLRP, I could have had a week in the sun. I don't want a week in the sun - I just want DLRP to be reasonably affordable.

While these are quite some increase, they're still way above the current exchange rate, so they're still a good deal.

Assuming they're keeping the same face value, you now pay £36 for a €44 voucher, which is an exchange rate of 1.22 (still about much better than the 1.00 or less that you get for your cash).

I think it is expensive esp when you take the hotel price increases aswell.

I mean it cost me £300 for a week last September, next year its costing me £500.

There's no doubt that prices for all holidays into Eurozone will have to reflect the exchange rate at some point, unless things return to normal very quickly ( which seems unlikely). We usually go on a Canvas/ Eurocamp type holiday each summer although can't afford it this year. I'd then expect next year's prices to reflect the exchange rate....... holidays into Europe are going to become a lot more expensive again for a while.

Well, having taken the plunge and stayed offsite last week, I can recommend the Holiday Inn as an alternative. I just need to wean myself off expensive meals - once Dtr turns 12 in August I won't be able to afford to eat at the Auberge, Inventions, Steakhouse brunch......any of the places that doesn't have a teen menu, basically.

Meals do start to look extremely expensive when you have to pay for an additional adult although to be fair we were offered the children's menu in all restaurants for Jamie up until our last trip in Nov. 07, but by then he had really shot up and suddenly taken on a more mature appearance.
