Hi - 1st post so be gentle!

We have been quoted £150 for 3 nights (2 adults and 7yr and 3yr old). Does anyone think this is a good idea?

Thank you! x

How many meals does that give you each on your trip?

At table service meals at DLRP my bill usually comes to around 35-40 euros, for myself and DD aged 7. We have one table service meal per day, usually in the evening.

What are half board vouchers? Where do you get them from and where can you use them?
Sorry but i havnt heard of this before but i am guessing that it gives you a discount on food at resturants in DLP
Would like to know some more about this ;)

Hi Sara,

I don't think it does give you discounts as such - I believe its a pre-pay system, ie you pay £150, get meal vouchers which can be used at DLRP and Village table restaurants, some using special voucher menus, some using the standard restaurant menus. Good for budgeting ahead though, as you are paying in advance for your main meals.

Hi Julie,

Sorry, meant to say, if you work out the cost for your family at 70ish euros per meal, x 3 = 210 euros - so £150 would seem to be an okay price for paying in advance. Not much of a discount, but at least you're not having to budget during your trip for table service meals.

What about having a look around the dlrp menus guide, to get an idea of how much it would cost you without the half board option? There are many options there, from buffets, to table service, to cafes etc. It might give you a better idea about how much you as a family might spend.

Hi Elaine,

Thank you for that info, i didnt know that they had a pre- pay system.
Its a good idea...
Do you know where you book this from???
But i would probably want to be able to choose from the standard menus at each resturant rather than being limited on just choosing from a voucher menu.

You can book the half-board option directly through Disney. You can choose from the standard menu (of you go to a restaurant that has seperate menus for the half-board options) and they will use the voucher as part-payment (using the face value of the voucher). The face value of each voucher is £13 for the half-board standard and £17 for the half-board plus.

Hi Julie

We ( me, DH, DD7 and DS3) are going on our 1st trip soon:yay: and have bought our half board plus vouchers. After speaking to friends that have been to DLRP, we decided that this way we would not have to worry about budgeting too much. The voucher system seems pretty reasonable and allows you to relax knowing that your meals are more or less taken care of. As far as we understand - you can also use the vouchers towards character meals.:woohoo:

Hi zedonk1 and welcome to DLP DIS board :wave2:
We are a friendly bunch here so please join in on any other thread or if you have a number of questions then just start a new thread for each :goodvibes

If you have not had a look yet, DLP posting rules are here, DIS posting guidelines can be found here.

We used DLRP's previous meal tokens system on one of our trips and it is certainly a very good way of prebudgeting as dining can work out quite expensive :thumbsup2

when purchasing our Half board plus vouchers the CM said it worked out a

saving of around 15% on paying at the time.:cheer2:

the thing to remember is you get a drink included also.

we worked out for a family of 5 that it would save us a fair amount and plus

no need to carry lots of cash or cards.

You can upgrade to any of the restaurants classed as "Gourmet" and redeem

the face value of the vouchers against your bill plus there are 14 restaurants

you can use them in without paying extra
