Hakuna Matata, Get fit in June!

I had a wonderful walk with my walking group. We did a brisk 7 miles along the river trails. At one point I had to leap over a snake and a vicious bunny.

Scott I hope you get your verdict today.

Connie:hug:

Vicky is probably relaxing after that super time she had at the Toronto half.

Walking Panda:hippie:

Connie, 6:40 am is far too early for me.

I did 3.75 miles in 30 minutes (right at an 8 minute pace). My speed is coming back but the endurance is still taking a while to build up in the heat.

Best,
Jennifer

Hi Team! I'm still here :) Just relaxing like Dave said - My right hip was really tight after Sunday and sitting around at a desk on Monday didn't help. I went to see my PT on Monday and we did an active recovery session. I went lighter on the weights and lots of different exercises to try and loosen up my hip. I'll probably try going out for a light 2-3 miler on Saturday but for now, I'm just walking. I have a 5K race next weekend - it's being held on one of the runways at Toronto Pearson Airport.

Dave - It was such a big pick-me up to see you (our) guys at the firefighters' water stop :) The third time I passed by, I was so out of gas then. I hope the baby stuff works out. I have no experience with babies so I didn't know what to get.

Sue - While I haven't worn my sandals to work yet, I'm still loving the cool weather. I tried to explain to my coworkers that it's great but they're not runners so they're waiting for the 30C patio weather :) Congrats to your DH on his tri! Is he going to be doing the Goofy with you in January?

Connie - Thanks for adding in the 20 seconds :) I usually just round down but thought it would be funny to include them this time.

Denise - I'm going to try getting up early a couple times a week this month to do a little bit of yoga. I have zero discipline when it comes to going to sleep early. How is Miranda doing?

Eva - Congrats on the new job! That's fantastic news! Keeping my fingers crossed for good news on the baby front :)

Margie - How's the Goofy training coming along? Did you have a 10K last weekend? I thought I saw something on the WISH race calendar...

Lynn - Send us some of that warm California sunshine :)

Scott - Hope you get a verdict in your case soon!

Mary - How's the running coming along?

Have a great day everyone!

Vicky, yes Erica loved the baby stuff, Kim loved the little bear they were perfect. We decided to work on buffing up since the ladies were enjoying hugging the firefighters so much. Time to turn Panda Pudge into Panda Beef. Grrrrr! :upsidedow

Erica is just relaxing the rest of the week and I'll start her walking again next week.

Happy Panda:hippie:

Case went to Jury two hours ago, I am guessing we will hear from them in about two more hours. I hope, the waiting can be tough, second guessing hoe you put the case together etc etc.....

Thanks for the support, these events are very physically and extremely emotionally draining, and there is a lot on the line. I slept well last night knowing some children will be safe as this person will be away for 25 to life….

After we were done yesterday I thought of this Jimmy Buffett song….

So you're looking for a hero

That you can see with your own eyes

When they don't wear the mask and cape

They're hard to recognize

Even though these are cynical times

Bear it in mind

Good guys win

Every once in while

Full grown men
Get to learn from a child

Now and then
Just when you think it won't happen again

The good guys win

Hit the TM this morn as the wind was howling.

Back to the grind… Have a great one. Train Hard and Be Strong…

I need coffee….

Scott- Outstanding!! Thanks for fighting the good fight.......

I'm in the middle of promotional exams, a stupid petty trial (my last one :woohoo:)
and budget crisis. My son has his sr. prom Friday Night, Golf tournament Friday day, next week sr. banquet, Honor Society Dinner, and Graduation Friday, Fenway Sunday (Fr.'s day) it never ends....
hope everyone is well and enjoying life, sorry to have been MIA but will be back into the mix soon.

Jack

Good morning Team!!!

Great Job Scott and THANKS for fighting the bad guys for us!

Jack you are sooooooooooooooooo busy! Good luck with all that! We'll be rooting for you!

Vicki - :tinker:For that hip! I know how awful those hip problems can be!

I did my 3 miles yesterday. Then I started taking care of errands and in the process, I fell out of my truck. I wish I could say that it was small truck. I wish I could say that I didn't hurt myself. I wish I could say that I wasn't icing and propping my ankle and that I wasn't wearing a support brace, but I can't! :sad2: I stepped on the nurf bar(aka smurf bar) turned my ankle under and fell to the pavement. The good news is that I got perfect 10's for my dismount! :rotfl:

See ya- Connie

Connie, darn it quit that. We need you healthy and ready for the Goofy, that little fireball Margie is depending on you.

I had a nice workout this morning, it was the first day of Hunk the Panda, workouts. I did a good pilaties workout, followed by weight training and then some running in the pool. Then took boxes and furniture to the stroage shed for an hour, that was fun since the lab wanted to go in and out with me each trip and trying to make sure Erica's cats didn't go to.

Everyone have an awesome day.

Oh No Connie!

I feel you pain! Poor you. We don't bounce like we did 20 years ago!

Dave, funny you mention the shed, that's one of the issues we had with the city. Our shed 8x16 was moved via flat bed tow truck from one side of the yard to the other to make it more convenient for us. Well it was dropped too close to the property line. We had to have the plot surveyed and found out that our neighbor's shed was partially on our property. She didn't care about ours, we didn't care about hers but the nosy neighbor across the street opened up a whole can of worms. We are now in compliance but the neighbor never resolved their issue with the city - they just moved away. Mark and I are about ready to file a complaint. Ahhhhhhh the life in the city. For the most part we love our neighbors, it's just the trouble makers that give us heartburn.

We went out for 5 this morning. It's cool and cloudy again but we beat the rain. Feel great. It is hard getting out of bed at 4:45. Mark actually asked me if we could go earlier. I gave him "THE LOOK".

Well time to dress and make me presentable.

Have a good one.

Good morning Everyone!

I am up and at 'em....well not so much at 'em! :lmao: Thanks for the nice thoughts on my ankle. Not so bad this morning. I wanted to do some walking today, but I know it will be screaming pretty quickly, so I am just going to rest it again. I wll do some Pilates Mat work and stuff like that. My core probably needs more work than my legs, anyway!

I enjoyed reading the diverse points of view on the "streaking" thread. I can't wait until more folks chime in.

Denise , we had a problem with the neighbors shed being on our property, too. So, we bought their house, now it's on OUR property! :) Of course our property values are probably way different than yours. We got it for less than a lot in a city costs.

Guess I will go check out some more threads! see ya! Connie

Three years ago when we sold our house in Jackson, we discovered our neighbors house was three feet onto our property, worked out but cost $5000.

Take care of thsoe boo boos kids, it is Friday, hoped to get out early LOL not today too much going on...

Later have a great one.

Morning team! Happy Friday everyone! I'm looking forward to the weekend :) I plan to sleep in tomorrow since I don't have to get up early to run. I might go and see a movie tonight. I saw Up last weekend, has anyone else watched it? I really liked Ed Asner's character :)

Connie - Ouch! Hope you're okay. All you have to do is to make up a cool story if anyone sees the bumps.

Denise - There's always a bad one in the bunch. :sad2: I remember when a friend of mine was rebuilding his house, one of his neighbours complained that to the city that they didn't like the shape of his house because it didn't match the rest of the neighbourhood. Go figure.

Scott - Glad the good guys won!

Margie - Hope everything is okay!

That's all for now! Have a great weekend everyone! :wave2:

Almost quitting time! A quick post before leaving work. Very uneventful day.

Hi TEAM! :wave2:

Beautiful weather in Michigan. Hoping Hagen and I can finally get out for a walk tomorrow morning.

Vicky- It has been a difficult week. LOL I thought today was Wednesday! DD was finally diagnosed with Mrsa this morning-I will be going to the office starting next week to work for her, so they can continue getting survival paycheck...Took Hagen to his pediatrician this morning for a nose culture to make sure he does not have it. That will not be back until Monday. He was put on a preventive antibiotics. :sad2:

Connie-

Hear you on the neighbor problems - today I had to pay to have a sprinkler head moved as they planted a pair of beautiful blue spruce trees close to my property line. Now its beautiful branches are two feet over the line and completely covered the sprinkler. No they did not offer to help pay the cost and I could not see chopping the branches off- :upsidedow

Have a Great Weekend Everyone! :goodvibes
