Awhile back I thought I read something about kids getting their haircut at Disney (Magic Kingdom?)...does anyone have any information on this? My DD is 2 and has not needed a haircut yet-I thought it would be special to have her first haircut at Disney.

Our son got a haircut in the Barber shop last week. It is in the MK. In the corner by the Firehouse. It was $14 and he also got the gel and confetti.

Michael was our barber and he was great! It was the first time one of our kids have gotten a haircut there. We will definitely be doing it again.

I know they do something special for a first haircut. Mickey ears I think? I know someone else will come along with that info.

Have a great trip!:goodvibes

My son received his first hair cut 4 years ago at the barber shop in the MK. Michael was his barber. He gave him Mickey Mouse ears with First Haircut embroidered on the back. They do a nice job with children.:thumbsup2

My son got his haircut there as well. We went at park opening and were about sixth in line. While in line Pluto came out, so I stayed in line while my Dad too son to see Pluto to pass the time. They do cute things for 1st haircuts, it was not my sons unfortunately. He just got a bunch of stickers. The will do confetti and colored gel, but DS didn't want those and I'm glad because it was hot and I'm sure the colored gel would have been all over him and me! I don't know how the lines are later in the day or what tome they close for the day.

Girls and boys are the same price, but both of the "barbers" when we were there were ladies. 2 year olds are too young for BBB. It was a WONDERFUL experience. Click on my trip report below, I have a full review and pics, including the photopass pics farther along in the TR, maybe pg. 5?

If I were you, be the FIRST in line! Seriously...the wait can be LONG! My little girl and boy both get their hair cut there...and we try to be among the first people. It is REALLY worth the price, I promise!

My DS had his 1st and 2nd hair cuts there, and we've actually had better luck going later in the day. The first time was just before the parade started, and we only had a short wait. The 2nd time was just before they closed, and NO ONE was there! Michal cut his hair both times too- great job both times!

What no one has mentioned yet is that they will cut anyones hair. If it is slow I like to go in for myself.

We will be at WDW next month and DS will be 17mo. he has never had a haircut and I don't really want it to be cut all over, but it is definately getting a little shaggy around his ears. Do you guys think it would still be "worth it" to only have it cut around his ears? I think it would be so cute to have it done there!

I waited and got my little guy's 1st haircut there when he was 16 months old - he did receive the 1st haircut ears, and a cute certificate. It was a great photo op as well! :goodvibes

Yes, it will be worth it!

Last year both my DS2 and my DD4 got their first haircuts there. We took tons of pictures and they each got "First Haircut" ears, a certificate, and some of their hair wrapped up with pixie dust.

DD4 and DD10 also got the color and confetti.

It was one of the highlights of our trip. We took all three kids for haircuts this year when we went back.

A haircut is $14-- about what you would pay anywhere-- and the color/confetti is $7.50 (free with a haircut).

We are going in 1 week! :woohoo: We are getting our DD 23 months hair cut for the first time! I can't wait!

From everything that I have seen you don't need an appointment. We have an early Crystal Palace ADR on our very first day. We plan to head towards the barbershop right after that!

Is 15 months too early for a little girl's first haircut there. We're taking our DGD in early February. She turns 1 on Halloween.

Here is a review and some photos from the Harmony Main street Barbershop from allears.

I really think that the little girl hairdos are prettier at the Barbershop than Bibbiti, and it seems like they get a more relaxed experience. Not to mention it will save you enough money that you can take your little girl to a Princess Dinner instead.

Plus, you have licensed hairstylist who can also do a little trim as well.
