One from my wife....

she'd like some advice about buying hair straightners in the UK, and wanted to know which is a good set and provides good value.

also is there much difference between SCP and GHD ( I think Ive goit that right)

Thanks

GHD are fantastic and come in various widths suitable for different hair length and styles. Go to a good retailer and they will advise.

Hiya,

I have had tons of different brands but since getting my first pair of ghd's I would never use anything else now.

I bought my first pair when they were relatively new to the market a few years ago and they still work fine but I have since bought a pair specifically for long thick hair and kept my old pair as back-up!

Another big thumbs up for GHD's. We've had other straighteners in the past and have to say that these are the best.

another vote for GHDs! my hairs really curly and using ordinary straighteners wouldn't get my hair staight but GHD's work a treat! Shop around as they can be £120 in the salon, I got mine for £60 in a stand at the local shopping mall!

When I was buying mine I asked my hairdresser. he advised me to buy a good quality pair for about £50-60. His explanation was that the GHD are salon quality ie they are meant toi be able to be on all day every day and as I was not going to do this there was no point. I bought a pair of Charles Worthington/Babyliss ones and they work as well as my friends GHD. And can I add I know have curly hair and they work just as well on them.

Another vote for GHD's,expensive but well worth the money. :wave2:

I dont suppose this stand Tazz was anywhere in London was it ?

No it was a stand in Churchill Square in Brighton- its still there if anyone is interested!

Another vote here for GHD ~ They are a little more expensive but are well worth it IMHO.

HI! :)

I'm typing this whilst having my hair straightened with GHDs!! They're brilliant. I got mine online at HQ Hair, they're £80 plus P&P at the moment.

Don't know personally but my daughter tried various sorts before she bought some GHDs and wouldn't use anything else now - she says they're fantastic & really quick.

Hiya,

I have been using GHD's for almost 3 years now, On average once every 10 days and I have never had any problems at all with this infrequency.

GHD's all the way, by the time you buy, test, try and get fed up with other brands you will have spent what it would have cost just to get GHD's in the first place.

I have used basic remington ones which were about £24.99 and now have some morphy richards ones which are £80(I got them for £40) and I would have to say the remington ones were probably better. Have had GHD ones used on me in the salon and I would agree with others that they have worked best however this may be due to the fact that the hairdresser was more patient than I am! I would buy GHD myself if it they were cheaper
