Can someone suggest a good one? I have very wavy hair, just purchased one at Target and it doesn't seem to work. Either I'm not using it correctly (which is highly possible), or I bought a crappy one. I saw one for $100. Do I need to spend that to get my hair straight?

If so, I think I'll live with curly hair. :)

I love my CHI. I got mine for around $80. DD and I use it every day.

There have been others on her that have recommended another brand that wasn't as expensive but can't remember what it was.

Chi!!!!!!! I have had mine for about 3 years. Well worth the money, they last forever.

another vote for CHI. I had several cheap flat irons and none of them worked as well as my CHI does. I got it online for around $100 (??) it also came with a bottle of CHI iron guard and CHI serum which was using anyway.

I recently bought a Sedu and LOVE it! Unfortunately, it really is worth the money to get a good one. It was $119 I think.

My sister has a Chi, and MIL has a Hai Stick, and they both seem to work good also.

Dandy...that was the one I had in my hand for $99! Argghhh...I knew I should have bought it. I bought a Revlon and it's terrible.

I also use CHI's silk infusion. LOVE IT!!!! Bought one of the larger bottles for about $20 and it has lasted over a year because you only need a little bit.

CHI!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

You may think you are saving on a less expensive straightener, but there is no beating the quality of a Chi. Try Ebay or Amazon for a good deal.

I agree you need a CHI. I had bought a flat iron for my DD at Kmart. I had never used a flat iron until my hairdresser used it and I liked the way it looked. Well, the cheapo one didn't work anything like the hairdresser's did. So I broke down and bought a CHI. It was amazing the difference. It's definitely worth the money!!

I hate to admit it, but I love my Chi. When DD first wanted one, I said no way was I going to pay that much. I bought a cheaper one and it did nothing to her very thick hair. I bought her a Chi for Christmas and liked it so much that I bought my own for my birthday.

If you have Ulta stores near you, watch their ads. I had a 20% off coupon when I bought DD's Chi.

One more thing: PLEASE let me know if you have found a less expensive brand that works. DD takes her Chi to dance competitions and I am afraid it will be stolen. (You can't just quick put it away when you're done.)

I really wanted a CHI but I just didn't want to spend the money on it (they were running about $125 here at the time), which is funny b/c I'm usually not a thrifty person (I know it's bad, and I wish I was better at saving money) but my Aunt who works and owns her own Salon told me that I could buy a GVP flat iron from Sally's Beauty Supply, it's less then a chi and works just like one. I LOVE it! It was about $60 for a ceramic flat iron, it heats up in seconds and works great, my hair feels very smooth when I'm done. So I'll admit I have a fake Chi:rotfl: but if you used it you would never know

I found a travel pouch at a beauty store for curling iron when they are still hot. My CHI fits in it perfectly. I travel a good bit for work and most of the time need to check out of the hotel after I get ready in the morning. This has been great. If you want I'll look up the brand name.

i know what you mean i have dry kinky hair and have a chi i have bought one for each of my daughters when they went off to college so they wouldn't take mine and they take them wherever they go we have even had to replace them since we use them all the time and all you have to do is mail it back to them with a check it is under $50 for them to repair them, have had my for at least 4 or 5 years and would not live without it best money i ever spent

That sounds great!

Vera Bradley has some adorable hair straightener/curling iron holders. They have the silver heat-resistant fabric, like a potholder, inside, and the print fabric outside. I got both DDs 2 each for Christmas.

Yeah, if you want a good one, you'll spend close to $100. I have curly hair and use a Hai. Its a lot like a Chi - a high-end ceramic. I bought it 3 years ago and use it a few times a month. Worth every penny.

Buy one new on ebay - and don't get it more than 1.5". You really don't need a thick one. I paid $70 for mine - so good deals can be found!
