Hair Straighteners again

Jill not sure what model they are but they about 2 years old and were about £25 when I brought them so sounds like you will just be buying the new model. I think as long as they're dual voltage you'll be fine.

Thanks! :thumbsup2

Wish I could just tie my hair back but it's not long enough!!! I could always invest in a wig! :lmao:

Hi!

I had serious strightener issues and was convinced not to take GHD's with a convertor. My solution?

Went on amazon.com and found a decent pair of American straighteners and had them delivered to BCV :goodvibes for our arrival.

They were as cheap in dollars as UK ones in sterling, good exchange rate made them cheaper! They were American spec, so worked great....

I must remember to pack them this year!!!

BTW, don't us girls go to so much trouble? I do hope Mickey appreciates our hard work!!! :rotfl:

worr lass and my sister in law are using ghd's. ive not heard them complain so i guess they must be working ok. ill ask her in the morning, and ill check what model they are.

just checked the model and they are "ghd ss". the feedback is that they are working...they take longer to warm up, and dont get hot enough for the red light to flash, but they do get hot enough to be usable.

the maplin voltage convertor will do the trick for any model, but buy the higher rated version that they sell.

My DD has the Remington Sleek & Go straighteners which work brilliantly. They are specifically for travel so fold in half making them easy to pack and come with two travel adaptors and a heat proof wrap which is handy. We've taken them on a couple of trips to the USA now and they easily get as hot there as they do at home. She is VERY fussy about her hair so if they meet her standards they must be good. Have just had a look on the Boots website and they are on offer at £19.99 :thumbsup2

Hi,
My parents have a house in Kissimmee so I have my own that i keep there. The Walmarts on highway 27 just off of 192 has a hairdressers at the front (actually, I think alot of the super Walmarts do?) and i spoke to the girl in there and she sold me their equivlent of GHD straighteners. They were $80. This seems alot, but if you think about it with the exchange rate its probably about £55, If you are planning to go back again and again to the States I think its worth it.
Hope this helps
Jo x
