I was thinking of getting my hair done for formal night. I know I have to go to the spa to make the appt when we board.

But I wanted to know if anyone has used them?

thanks

I had my hair "done" for formal night last year and was very pleased with the results. The cost was about $45 for me - my hair is shoulder length, very fine, but there's a lot of it.

Made the appointment at the spa the afternoon that we boarded the ship.

That's not a bad price at all. That's what I paid this past weekend for my updo for a wedding I was in. Thanks for responsing. My hair is thin but I have a lot of it too.

what time was your appt?

We had late dinner seating.. 8:30PM and I made my appointment for 7PM. It took about 30-40 minutes. Still had plenty of time to go back and get dressed for dinner and add some make-up. Of course, we don't have kids so it was probably a little easier for me than it would have been for others. :goodvibes

The lines for pictures that night were crazy... we actually waited until after dinner to have ours taken, but it turned out really well and the wait time was much shorter.

thanks for the help. We don't have kids either and we have late seating. i was already thinking that 630-7 would be perfect.

I have used them for each cruise formal night we have been on. They have always been wonderful..my hair looks great, I get many compliments throughout the evening.

They also do make up as well. I had both done. I had a 4:00 appt and 6:30 seating. It was cutting it pretty close. I guess it took a lot of work to make me look good. But I must say, they did a very good job. princess:

I had my hair cut & styled once while on board..... It was one of the best cuts I had in my life. I love their hair products. (steiner) especially the conditioning masque. You can get it on-line and it always reminds me of the boat when I use it.

I did. I used them for an updo on formal night. Although they did a good job, I do a much better job, myself. My hair looked icky on Formal night, but great on Semi Formal ('cause I did it myself).

I would not recommend having your hair colored or treated...... too scary.

I've had my hair cut and colored while on the Magic and on the Wonder and also had the best cuts I've ever had like goofyforlife said.

Be prepared for a big "sell" when you are there. They make 20% commission off all they sell and the one who sells the most gets a bene when in port. You can write "do not solicit" on your profile to stop them from selling all that stuff.

They sold my husband about $300 worth of products, which I returned. He would never use it.

Besides, Steiner products are not the best - Dr. Denese, Decleor, Clare dePue, Sheisedo and others are much better.

The conditioner wasn't pushed on me or anything else....I really liked the smell and liked how it worked with my hair....So the $19 I spend on-board or on-line (same price) is worth it to me as one jar will last me a month or so.

My DD had her hair highlighted and cut on two Disney cruises. They do a fantastic job, and she's very, very, very picky about her hair. (Think 19/20 year old.)

They didn't push any products on her. I do like the powdered bronzing powder that comes in the little terra cotta pot. It lasts forever. :flower:

I had my hair cut and high-lighted on our cruise in Feb 04. I thought they charged what a really good Manhattan salon would charge. Not that I get to too many of those!

The stylist was an adorable, young, English man. He said I looked "Wicked". I took that as a compliment!

hmmm...me thinks me going to get an updoooooooo for formal night - Sister and I were just talking about the dresses we want to buy - and what we will do with our hair. So now we will all get BEAUTIFIED by Disney!

Darn.... hair... makeup.... can they make me skinny too? :rotfl2:

Now i'm excited about getting my hair done on board for formal night. I'm so excited. It's almost time for us.
