I'm wearing a tea-length dress, and very anti-veil and tiara (on me not anyone else). I'm thinking my hair will be half-up, half-down, and loose curls. Any ideas for something to put in my hair? I do want to keep it relatively casual. Thanks!

How about a fascinator? I was also very anti-veil (for me) and hit the jackpot when I discovered fascinators. Sometimes they are worn with birdcage veils, but you can wear them alone. They're really popular in Great Britain and Australia for wearing to the races.

There are a few places in the US that make them but call them "headpieces" and charge outrageous prices ($200-$500). I got my I got mine at www.fascinators.net, an Australian site that has them in all price ranges and has great sales (and sometimes there's a favorable exchange rate for us).

I wore one for the ceremony and another for the Dessert Party:

I didn't wear a veil either as my wedding attire was really casual (simple cotton dress).

I made a floral "halo"/wreath for my headpiece. It turned out really well and matched my bouquet really closely (which was surprising since I didn't see my bouquet until my wedding day, I had only described it to Disney floral).

If you'd like to see pictures, I'll be happy to PM some to you.

I love that! However, I don't think I could pass that off either. But... I am checking out that website ;)

My dress is fairly simple and I am planning on wearing a ribbon to match the colour of the bridesmaids' dresses (which in turn are going to be matched to my flowers!).

Lizby posted a hair vine in her PJ. She ended up deciding not to use it, but it seems like it could work for you -- it was really pretty, and on the simple side.

I thought I'd update everyone on what I found since you helped me! I was looking for something that might go with the asian theme (short of chopsticks lol!) and I found these traditional Japanese "hairpins" call Kanzashi and I think that's what I'm going to go with. You can read about it here http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kanzashi if anyone is interested!

Here is my favorite so far:

The traditional one's look like this:
