Hi All, I should know this but are there hair dryers at the DLH....or is it just those things on the wall? Trying to finish packing before tomorrow's flight so if anybody can let me it would be much appreciated :] K

I think they should rename them to plastic things mounted on walls which "breathe" warm air onto your hair.

I think it would be quicker just to run around in circles. I'd advise bringing your own :)

Hi Bonhoga, we are staying at DLH in November, could you let me know if there are kettles and cups in the room as we will take our own if not, hope you have a fab time! xxx

No kettles,

But I believe you can request one from reception.

The ones at HYN were very annoying. Not only are they not powerful, the cord is super short and you have to constantly push a button to keep it on.

I always just make do with the hairdryers at HNY, I think the ones at DLH are the same. It is annoying to hold the button constantly and I wrap a face cloth round the handle as it does get really warm - but, I always struggle with weight in my suitcase so for a few days I don't mind. Also, my hair is long and thick, but it does manage to dry ok :goodvibes

Re the kettles - yes, you can ask housekeeping to deliver one to your room, free of charge. I think you might be able to get cups too on some kind of package, but I always just buy a couple of new mugs from the shop, any excuse ;)

I think all hairdryers are like that in hotels though - or maybe it's just the ones we stay in lol

I know I was told that it was so they cut out automatically and you couldn't have someone starting a fire with one by seting it down somewhere while still hot etc

That's what my husband said when I was grumbling about the hair dryer. We found the same type (although with a much longer cord) at our hotel in Paris. Although the hotel in Amsterdam would stay on (just like those in the states). Wonder if it's unique to France?

We had a kettle in our DLH room last week - found hidden in the wardrobe. No cups or tea/coffee etc to use with it though.
