BEFORE your wedding -- or do they just wing it the day of your wedding?

I'm wondering if it's possible to do a test run before hand -- like maybe when i go down for my planning session. or the day before the wedding. i have a 9am ceremony so there won't be much time for experimenting the day of.

thanks!

I am getting married on the wednesday and decided to have my 'trial' on the monday before the wedding. This was when my honeymoon shoot was being done so it worked out quite well for me.

Well i did my trial run with my hair stylist while I was there for my planning session.

I set it up with her about a month prior, and she came to my room and did my hair and make-up, and then the fun part was me and my DH went out to a nice dinner that night at narccossee's and i was all fancied-up!

My personal hairdresser did my hair for our wedding and we did the trial run on Oct. 1st which was my bachelorette party. So I had "wedding hair" in my fake veil at Disney's Boardwalk for the party, which was too funny!

If you can get your trial hair done with your personal hairdresser, take lots and lots of pictures - before, during, and after - and show those pictures to your stylist the day of your wedding. That way if you cannot fit in a trial with that person before the wedding day you at least have something to go by and won't be trying to come up with it at the last minute.

Good Luck :goodvibes

Although we didn't get married in Disney--I did get a test run done for my hair & make up.
My advice is to have a picture taken if the test run comes out to your satisfaction.
Even though I'd been going to the same hairdresser for several years, my hair did not look good the morning of my wedding! :scared1: Every time she tried to fix it, it just looked worse!
Thank goodness the basics were okay--I could've cried but didn't want to spoil an expensive cosmetics session! I combed out my hair & it looked much, much better, thank goodness!

I did a test run at home with my stylist, including tiara, and hair bobs. I then took pictures of it from every angle front, back and both sides. It worked out really well, Lisa was able to tell exactly what I wanted, and actually made it look better. If I did it again I would deffiantly go for the trail again. I wasn't sure originally if it was nessicary but I think it helped alot. It also gave me a chance to run around all evening with my hair the way I thought I wanted it to make sure it was comfortable, and not falling and such.

Im getting married this june 10th. I am having a hair test on June 6th! I think everyone should, not only for a great style, but to calm your nerves! :)

I definitely did the Hairstyle Trial. It's a really good idea if you can. I'm glad I did because the first one I did with my local hairstylist was the "dream hairdo", but I ending up not liking it. She did a great job, but I decided it was just not for me.

However, I did another one and I love it. I took pictures with my digital camera so Lisa could see exactly what I wanted on the day!

I actually chose not to do the trial run. I brought a few pictures from magazines for the hairstylist to work from.

I was very happy with how my hair turned out! It was like a fancier version of something I would do myself. If I were going to really go out on a limb with a hairstyle unlike anything I'd ever had before, a trial run would have been a good idea, to see if I really felt that the new style was flattering.

I was also very happy with my makeup. The only thing I would have done differently is thrown a favorite soft/neutral lipstick into my purse for touchups. The subtle color the makeup artist chose looked awesome when she did it, but I felt like when I retouched with the little brushes she provided, it still looked like I didn't have any lipstick on.

I booked Lisa, and she brought Tanya with her to do the makeup.
