Anyone ever get their hair cut at MK? If so, did you make an appointment, or was it all 1st come 1st serve?
My DS (5) and I are both going to be needing cuts next week, and I thought it would be cool to get it cut there on Main Street.

My husband gets his hair cut in the Barber Shop on Main Street every time we visit. The barbers do a good job. It is first come-first served, but you usually do not have to wait a long time except on the weekends when the regular customers come in to get their haircut. Also, for the little ones who get their first haircut at the Magic Kingdom, they have special Mickey ears.princess:

First come first served. It is a great place to see the afternoon parade from also. Jst be prepared to wait.

My two sons got their haircuts there in February. There was a short wait but well worth it. The barbers gave them great haircuts and made it alot of fun full of comedy. We took some great photos and videos and I even had pixie dust sprinkled onto my hair.:D

the wait was way too long for my husband to get his hair cut. if you go right as they open then the wait should not be too long if any. keep in mind the little girls can have a hair cut there too. we saw several little girls waiting for their turn!

Someone posted a couple of awesome pictures a month or two ago...do a search on the DIS on haircuts and maybe you'll find the thread! The pics were great!!

This is what they did to my DSs this Feb when we went. They've been bugging me for another haircut this May.:teeth:

Oogieboogie, those pictures are awesome!!! I am hoping to bribe DS4 and DS6 to get their hair cut next trip-although they have stated there will be NO pixie dust!!( I will just have to bribe them with a HotWheels, or something, I just have to have one of those pictures of my own DSs!) I have also read that the barber will "carve" a Mickey in the back-too cute!!::yes:: :teeth:

We DEFINITELY want to do this. I'm not cutting my son's hair until we get there at the end of May (Yikes, it's getting really shaggy right now!:earseek: )

Anyhow, we just go the UG in the mail and it said that main street opens at 8:30 with the rest of the park roped off. My question is this: Do the shops on main street open at 8:30 as well, or can you just go and wait outside the barber shop for it to open at 9. ALSO, will there be a LOT of people doing this?:bitelip:

Anyone who has done this or plans to do this, let me know what you did or are going to do! Thanks if advance!!!

My son had his first haircut there. It was so fun. DD got to blow bubbles to amuse him/distract him.

Our DS had his hair cut there as well. We went in the morning and the bears from Country Bear Jamboree were there.

They were goofing off with the barber and got giant plastic scissors and comb and were pretending to cut everyone's hair. It was a lot of fun! I'm not sure if the bears are there often, but it sure added to the experience!

Can someone tell me EXACTLY where this is located...I walk in the gates and I start heading down main St....where from there?

I had my haircut there over Easter and DDs had thier hair made up.

(I'm 42 BTW!)

It was first come first served with a choice of colours (Red, Green and Blue) and Mickey spinkles etc.

Mine was tainted green (of course) complete with Mickey Head design on the back of my head.

It's not for the faint hearted but I had loads of admiring looks and comments throughout the day - pics to follow later when I've uploaded them.

From the train station, veer left and walk straight ahead. Go past City Hall and the Fire Station. It should be straight ahead of you. There's a barber pole in front of it.

There are only a few chairs in there, and not a big space all around. There are 2 barbers usually working, so it does get crowded at times. Add to that people coming by just to peek in. Sometimes the Dapper Dans will come in and serenade. That's a lot of fun!

Kid's cut is $12 and adult is $15, color and pixie dust included. If you have 2 kids but only one needs a haircut, they are willing to just color the other kid's hair too. (we just leave a bigger tip).

WARNING: You will get a LOT of attention!:hyper:

My son just got his hair done last week. We had to wait about a half hour but it was well worth it.

Here are two pics.

My friend (late 30s) gets her hair cut only at the barbershop in Disney. She was just mentioning to me the other day that she is going back in a couple of weeks because she can't wait any longer for a haircut.:)
