Hair braiding at CC

Hi

I thought I read somewhere that they offer hairbraiding on Castaway Cay...if so, anyone know how much it costs?

Yes, they do. The price is $1 per braid and $2 per cornrow. Our 11-year-old daughter had what is called a "headband" of cornrows, which are small braids against the head, on the crown, which stop where you would wear a headband. The rest of the hair just falls normally down. The braider put in 20 small cornrows, so it came to $40. Not cheap, but a special thing for her. It ook about 1/2 hour or 45 minutes.

Check out the navigator for the first morning on the cruise that you wake up. If you do the 7 day cruise, they take appointments starting at 9 a.m. at the Goofy Pool Gazebo. Make an appointment for a day that you want and don't have to wait until Castaway Cay day. It works the same as CC, they take your KTTW card and it goes on your charges. It is the same price as the CC prices. DD had 52 braids put in her entire hair, long hair $1.50 for each braid....Yes $78.00 plus tip. She had already had cornrows the past 2 cruises and wanted the "Bo Derrik Look" It was great and she kept it in about 3 weeks. She loved it.

Don't waste your precious time at Castaway Cay to get your hair braided...do it onboard...they advertise it in the Navigators. The local ladies on the islands are a little cheaper...but I don't know how well they clean their combs, etc, I'd be afraid of lice with those island ladies. I did see the DCL ladies cleaning there supplies...be prepared to pay though...and spray head with that spray sunscreen...we saw lots of girls with the top of their head burnt bad

That price is not bad. DD8 had hers done at the Vistana Resort near Disney 2 years ago, and they charged by the inch. Believe me when I say that they sretched that hair out as far as it would go to measure it! She had one skinny braid with the colored threads intertwined and it cost about $50 plus a tip. Ouch!

On CC you can make appointments for the hair braiding....and they stick to the appt. times quite well. They do a good job! My daughter's hair has been braided for 3 weeks now and is still looking good. (she is hoping to keep it in till school starts )
