Hadn't planned to use the AP so soon

Just came back from Disneyland on Friday (6/18) at 1 am. We had used 5 for 3 passes Sun - Thurs and upgraded them to Deluxe APs. We have plans to return in August.

Then this morning, I was taking my DH to the airport. He has a contract in So. Cal. sort of nearby to Disneyland. He doesn't have an Annual Pass as he has neither time nor inclination. As we are nearing the airport, he realized he'd left his suitcase at home - 35 minutes away. There is no way to return for the suitcase and still make the flight. I send him on his way and drive home to ponder the dilemna of how to get him his suitcase with a week's worth of clothes and - most importantly - medications.

Then I have a scathingly brilliant idea. A couple of phone calls, a few arrangements, and - voila!- younger DS & I are toodling down the highway. 6 hours later, we arrive at the parking lot, hop a shuttle bus and are eating Bengal BBQ. The park is packed, but we still manage 3 or 4 rides, a quick shopping expedition to the Lego store. Then off to hubby's hotel to deliver the suitcase, have dinner with him, and settle for a good night's sleep. We'll be at Disneyland at rope drop in the morning. Should be able to get a bunch of rides in the early hours. Then head back home after lunch - hopefully before the traffic gets really ugly.

I hadn't planned on a return trip quite this soon (3 days? Really?), but since the opportunity presented itself we took it.

That was a brilliant (and fun) idea on your part! Nicely done! Have fun!

You so totally rock:thumbsup2

I know, you made sure he forgot that suitcase just so you had an excuse to drive down there and make a trip to Disneyland. :thumbsup2 I see how you are. LOL Just like the rest of us, any excuse to go works for us. LOL

Nice job getting him to ;) forget ;) his suitcase! I think you should you drive down to pick him up after his business is complete now that you know how easy it is!

Nicely done,
Dreams :wizard:

Wow what fun! My kids would've loved that. We've been reliving our great memories by watching our Flip videos and photos. My kids can't wait to go back. Sure glad we bought into VGC!! Now we just need more points if we want to go more often and cheap tickets from Seattle, I don't really want to make that drive again!

Yay ~ for a quick return visit! I hope you have/had a lovely morning in the park and a safe journey home.

Breakfast at DH's hotel. Got to DL at rope drop. Went on Space Mtn., Matterhorn, grabbed Indy FP. Rode Pirates, Haunted Mansion, Pirates again. Used our FP on Indy. Then had a quick snack and out. On the rode before noon. Avoided the LA traffic snarls.
We are about halfway home. Stopped for a late lunch to appease the bottomless pit (DS-12). It was a whirlwind tour, but we got a lot squeezed into a short time. We feel very happy about out our 'delivery' mission. And DH was relieved not to have to figure out shopping and pharmacies. Kind of silly and insane as a plan, but FUN!! Next real trip is in August. And I need to write up last week's trip report.

I knew the DIS would appreciate the irony of the initial dilemna.
