We had plans to go to the Yacht club again in Jan but due to the week we are going it is really buisy because of the marathon. So we could not get into the Yacht club!! :( So I got a ressie for the Grand floridian lagoon view. I have never stayed here before please help reassure me that I will love this hotel also!! Thanks in Advance!!ps I know this sounds like a strange question, but those of you who know me on these boards know how much of a Yacht club fan I am.

I stayed there a couple of years ago and loved it. The only thing I think you may be disappointed in is the pool. It's a nice enough pool with a great view, but it's no SAB. If you won't be doing much swimming, I think you will really like the place. Be sure to take DD for dinner with Cinderella at 1900 Park Faire. Have fun. Wish I were going!:D

I recently stayed here in a lagoon view and it was awesome!!! We jut got back less than 2 weeks ago. I loved it and can't wait to go back. Yes, there is a big difference about the pool, it will be nice but no SAB. It will seem weird to not be on the Boardwalk and being able to walk to Epoct and MGM but once you get over that I think you will enjoy it. I loved the elegance of the GF and I am not sure if I can stay anwhere esle now. I had the most wonderful time there. It was so beautiful, the staff was great, the rooms are wonderful everything was just about perfect. I also loved being on the monorail. It was so nice to be able to jump right on for dinner at the California Grill at the Contemporary and Ohana's at the Poly. We also headed over to check out the WL very easily. Just take the monorail to the Contemporary and then boat over the the WL. I love the monorail so I would just plan on having different meals at the GF and other monorail resorts to try something different with the ease of getting there from the monorail. Maybe even spend some more time at the MK since you will only be a short monorail ride away. I hope you have a great time and I think you will, it will be different but just as great I think!!! Have a wonderful trip!!!:Pinkbounc

tnkrbell,

Well, for my family there is Nothing like a "close up" view of the castle. To sit on our balcony and listen to the activities at the Magic Kingdom, watch the water parade, fireworks and even late at night listening to them cleaning gives me goosebumps. It is a Fantastic view. The castmembers will 9 out of 10 times go way out of there way to help you. (Can't help it if a few duds are grumpy, but we ignore them) The grounds are great, the rooms are clean and spacious as well as there are many things for our 6 yr. old dd. to do right where we are staying. The restaurants are FANTASTIC (Narcoosee's, Gasparilla, Grand Floridian Cafe, etc.) and then to be only a 3 minute Monorail ride to our favorite park is a Bonus. Our kids 6 & 2 love just looking at the MK from the balcony, playing in the pool and my 2 yr. old dd loves the flowers.
I hope you will enjoy it as much as some of us have. It's now our "Home away from Home". Even the Mousekeeper remembers us. How odd?????????? or maybe we Tip Good????????? Hey, $5 a day for 4 people is well worth it. They always leave us plenty of chocolates (we request them).
Have fun, we will be there the end of January. My Christmas and Birthday present.

But.. DD might!!

Tnkrbell,

LIVE DANGEROUSLY!!!!!!!! The water always feels great. It's almost like a big hot tub, just have something warm to put on afterwards. We swim every January and it energizes us. There are some GREAT photo op. areas at the GF as well. You will love it.
We have stayed at the Yacht Club and they are very different, but both are very comfortable.

Have Fun,
Wendi::MinnieMo
