Had to cancel our New Years Eve week long trip...

i was very dissapointed the other day to find out that our WDW trip scheduled for New Years Eve & the week following would be cancelled due to "circumstances" *sigh* I was looking forward to going on this trip sooooo much with my family since I have been away at college since August, it woud've been a really great experience...we have gone AT LEAST once a year since 1989 the year after i was born & this will be the first time EVER that we have missed a year

anyone have any good tips for when to go that won't be during stupid high school breaks so my brother doesn't have to deal with making up homework

Can you post some of the dates your brother is out of school in a new thread and ask for opinions on those dates regarding crowds? Maybe that can help you get started on your planning.

Sorry your trip had to be canceled. I have school age children and it is very hard to plan vacations around their breaks. And every year it gets worse. I did find that taking them out around Thanksgiving was much better than taking them out around President's weekend. Things really slow down around Thanksgiving and they didn't miss as much. They are in 6th and 8th grade.

I also like to go the very last week of August up to, and including, Labor Day weekend. This works well for kids who don't go back to school until after Labor Day. It is hot, but it is empty. The crowds are really, really low.
