Had to cancel my trip. Why am I so happy?

My wife and I were planning on heading to WDW for our second wedding anniversary this March. We called our cousin/travel agent and made the arrangements. I was going to see my cousin with a check one week before Christmas when my wife stopped me and told me we couldn't go. My shattering disappointment turned to utter joy when she told me she was pregnant. The money for the trip had to be put away for baby expenses. So, before I would spend the day in the theme park forums, but now I am here, getting ready for my first Disney trip with my child. How cool is that? :earboy2:

Congratulations!!! What wonderful news. Our first grandchild was just born last friday so we are eagerly waiting to take him to WDW too!!

Wow, big congrats! :cheer2: :cheer2: A new Disney lover is on the way! :cheer2: I think the wait will be worthwhile for you because it won't be long before you get to share that wonderful theme park with your DW and a tiny special someone!

Congrats again!

Congratulations!!!! Now you can start planning that 1st family trip! Best Wishes to you all.

Congratulations! How exciting!

A similar thing happened to my DH and I. We were planning our "last trip" to the world before we got pregnant. We were supposed to go in June of last year, but we found out in January that I was pregnant!!!!!

Now we are eagerly awaiting PJ's first Disney trip in October of this year, after two years away!!!!

I'd better get off of these boards! There seems to be a lot of this pregnancy thing going around here and it may be catchy

I just posted this on another thread: We took our DS #1 when he was just 6 mo old. It was a breeze! We all had a great trip! The pictures are just precious, especially treasured now since he is a tall 15 yr old! :rockband: ]

I remember that we had so much fun planning and anticipating the trip while I was pregnant with him!

What better reason for having to cancel a trip. Congratulations and best wishes!

Congratulations!

DH and I had to cancel our trip for April 2005 for the same reason. Our daughter will be born in early May and I want to stick close to home that last month!

We are looking forward to our first "family" trip in a year or two.

LOL- It wasn't our honeymoon, but our first was also concieved on WDW property (CBR) in 1988. We call him our "Disney Souvenier". :earboy2:

Congratulations!

After 6 years of marriage, the DH and I are finally ready to start a family. So I don't go nuts with the anxiety of trying, I decided to plan our trip so my mind is somewhat busy with that. Many of my co-workers had babies last year, and a few are pregnant now, so I don't want to get absorbed in disappointment.

If I get pregnant (depending on how far along I would be), then we'll reschedule if needed. Who knows how long it will take, so I wanted to have something to look forward to. Until then - we have our little dog to spoil - and he has a cat to chase.:earseek:

Keeping my fingers crossed!!!

We have 2 WDW souvies of our own... Look at my Tag from the Tag Fairy! Lol! Our 2 youngest children were both conceived while on vacation at WDW!

Start planning your next vacation now. A young baby is much easier to travel with than a toddler!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Congratulations!!!!!

I also wanted to say Congratulations as well.... A baby is such a special blessing! I agree with the above poster.. We have taken many trips to WDW with our little ones. The hardest trips for us were when they can toddle around but not understand sitting and waiting for a ride or show to end. :) It's much easier to go before then or to wait until after they understand at least a bit more. My own opinion is the time they are 1 year old to 2 years is probably the hardest. It gets easier after they turn 2 and can understand more about what is going on... :flower1: Have a great time planning for your new baby and your first family trip to WDW! :wave2:
