Had to call 911 last night

Boy can I tell you when your DH wakes you up in the middle of the night from a dead sleep and tells you to call 911 your heart surely races. Thank God he is okay, but at the moment it was very scary. DH is not a complainer and in the almost 22 years that I have known him he has only been really sick twice and only once where he needed to go to the hospital, so his request freaked me out. And can I tell you the waiting time from the phone call until the ambulance arrived, although only 7-10 min. seemed like forever. I am so grateful he is okay, but that is one experience I never want to repeat!

SO scary. My DH just has a stomach bug and had to throw up in the night...he has never thrown up in the nearly 15 years we've been together. That was unsettling enough, I would have been beyond freaked in your situation. What was wrong?

He was having a strong tingling sensation in his left arm and he was shaking all over. But he checked out okay.

Glad everything worked out.

About the waiting ... I am a retired firefighter/paramedic, and we were constantly berated for how long it took for us to respond. Even when there were phone/radio logs to prove that the call came in at x; we were dispatched at y and arrived at z - it was ALWAYS at LEAST an hour that they had waited. I know it seems like forever, but it isn't really.

Wow! That would be very scary. My DH (53) has a few minor heart problems so we're very much aware of symptoms.

Dec 2004 was the same for me, but it wasn't call 911. It was call the neighbor to come over and watch the kids, then take me to the hospital.

Kidney stones. It was a rather strange sensation for me because the past 2 times we did something like that it was "take me to the hospital, I am ready to deliver this baby." It was the same thing, but in reverse. His delivery wasn't nearly as rewarding though. (oh and we this time we had a baby that wouldn't take a bottle so I had to keep coming home every few hours to feed her.)

Still, would rather not wake up that way.
