Last night I had a call from my best freind to say that another of our friends had called with some terrible news. Her daughter had been knocked down nd seriously injured in a hit and run accident. She was staken to a London hospital where she was on life support, but with ony 1% brain activity it didn't look good. Within 20 mintes she'd called again to say Joanne had died.
I am absolutely devastated. We all brought our girls up together as babies, toddlers then teenagers. They played together and shared everything as children. Joanne was just 17,would have been 18 this year. She was a bright, sensitive and very caring girl who thought the world of her younger brother and sister. She looked after her brother particularly, he has Aspergers and Jo was devoted to him. I can't imagine how they're all feeling right now. I can;t imagine anything worse than losing your child and I just can;t stop thinking about them all.
Becky is really shaken too, Joanne always looked up to her and missed her when we moved away.
Please, keep them in your prayers and thoughts.........and go home and hug your children tight.
Darling Joanne, RIP poppet.
