Had hoped to scrap on the cruise

I'm so disappointed! Had hoped to spend some time scrapping on our cruise in October, but posts on a cruise line thread have said that they are allowing absolutely NO scissors. My husband said I could take everything and glue pages down, but that doesn't seem like much fun!

I think Disney should have a scrapping cruise like the scrapping cruise I've seen offered in Memory Makers magazine. Wouldn't that be a blast!

I saw that thread on the cruise board. That's a bummer! I'm going to be working on my Cinderella Castle cross-stitch -- guess I'll be trying to clip my threads with nail trimmers!

Help! I can't find the thread where it says no scissors! I have my cruise docs right here & it says no weapons but doesn't list scissors as a problem!

I thought it was fine as long as they were in your checked bags...

We cruised the last week of Oct 2001 and my Husband took his leatherman tool (can't go anywhere without that!). We had it in our checked luggage both going on and off the ship and had no problems. I think scissors should be fine.

Do you have the Creative Memories cutting system? The tiny little blades could hardly be used as a weapon. You would have plenty of cutting options. Circles, ovals, straight, wavy... My favorite part of the system is the straight ruler. I think I use it more then I use any one tool. I find that I often don't even pull out my scissors during an entire cropping session.

I'd call again - I find it very hard to believe you can't have scissors in checked luggage on a cruise ship - you can on an airplane. And on a cruise it's not like there aren't a gazillion sharp knives in the dining room - so what would be the point of not taking scissors? Unless they're going to start having plastic cutlery!! I think either someone misunderstood the question or just gave a pat answer! There are several different "croppin' cruises" being advertised in the scrapbook magazines right now. I doubt if they have cruises for scrapbookers and don't let them bring scissors! I know those aren't Disney cruises - but I doubt if Disney would have anything too different from the others on that issue.
