Had good luck with Main Street Megastore!

I have directed my 22 year old DD to this thread. She ordered a leather back pack from this company for us for Christmas. A couple of weeks after Christmas, when we still had not received the back pack, she e-mailed the company and told them that she was no longer interested in receiving it since it had been a Christmas present and to cancel the order. Of course she never heard anything back.
Then I saw the post from the previous poster that all orders would be shipped in 2-10 days. When we never received anything THEN, I assumed that they HAD cancelled the order. Well, you know what happens when you assume. :rolleyes2 DD's credit card has just been charged for the order.
It is supposed to be shipped to her BF's parent's house since it was SUPPOSED to be a surprise for us. I told DD to tell BF's parents to just refuse delivery per MSMS's instructions on their web site some weeks ago. And I told her to e-mail the owner immediately.
This is so upsetting. This was an $80 order - a huge amount for a college student! I hope that it is resolved in her favor. ::yes::

Got this Instant Message from DD, Ann:

Mom, I got an email back from the place saying that they will give me a full refund on my credit card (and a 10$ gift certificate toward their store- they gave me a code for that) Ill have to check my statement later on today or tomorrow

I will suggest that she makes sure that she gets the credit, and then we can be DONE with Main Street Mega Store. ::yes::

It's Disney Merchandising from now on if we ever want anything from the parks! :)

Thought I'd update you. Immediately after emailing Julian Lowy, I received a reply apologizing, and agreeing to refund my money but still send me the CD as compensation for the inconvenience. To date, I have not received a refund, but as I have finally received the CD I do not mind. However, all my purchases of Disney merchandise will be only in the parks from now on!

Funny -- mine was the opposite situation. Just like in your case, they offered to refund the money and send me the stuff. I got the refund but not the stuff. Just glad it's all over. What a fly-by-night operation. :badpc:

Wish I had done my research before encoutering my problem with Mainstreet Mega Store. On 1/21/05 I ordered a sweatshirt for my daughter, to replace one that had been lost. After some time had passed, and it had not arrived, I checked the order status, and found that it had not shipped. I sent a message via the "contact" page, questioning when the item would be sent, and got no response. After some more time went by, I sent another message, cancelling the order; again, no response. I then ordered the same item from an eBay merchant. Today (3/9/05) the I received an item from Mainstreet Mega Store. It was a cheaper substitute (heat transfer) for the embroidered sweatshirt I had ordered. A picture of the embroidered sweatshirt is still on the site. I was also charged for express shipping, even though the (wrong) item took 6 weeks to arrive. I sent a request for a refund, but am not holding my breath in view of the posts. Also, I just checked my bank statement, and I was billed on February 16th.

Here is what I ended up doing..after NOT hearing from them about trying to cancel my order I contacted my credit card company and they put a block on the charge from them. Several weeks after I tried to cancel the order they attempted to charge my Credit Card and it was denied of course..Never heard from them but on their website it said my order was cancelled due to non-payment...Thank God!!!

I put in a complaint with the BBB and I highly suggest that no one ever do business with this company. I am lucky I got out of my purchase.

ordered something on Jan 26, was billed on Feb 19 at which point it went to processing order....well here it is today March 10th, I have emailed them twice to no avail, no response.....should have realized after trying to get contact information on the company (no phone, no mailing address) not to order through them.....but I found something I really liked for a coworkers birthday, how awkward two months later to still not have it....then today I thought, let me call the credit card company to see where they are located and if they can provide me with any information....the phone number is a cell phone and only the state of Mass. is located (no city)....I should have researched this more before buying. I am now heading to the BBB to file a complaint...there is NO EXCUSE for this. Be very leary about buying from them (if at all)....go to the Disney Store or just go to Disney yourself, it is less hassle!!!

Well, after finding this site and following the info other members provided, making phone calls, sending e-mails and snail mail to the MA BBB, Main St Megastore and my bank/ credit card company, my problem with MSM has finally been resolved! (See posting #17) The MA BBB was told I would receive my 1st order for free ($250). They credited my acct, but I never rec'd the mdse (not that I expected to!) The 2nd order was shipped with 2 items missing, 1 broken and 2 not at all what I ordered! After having my bank investigate (and receiving no reply from MSM), they finally credited my account for the full amount. If it hadn't been for this web-site and all of you that contribute to it, I would have been $500 poorer but wiser! I am definitely wiser and will NEVER order from Main Street Megastore again! I have also told family and friends not to order from MSM. Make the trip to Disney or call them direct for assistance. At least Disney is reliable! Thanks to all of you for your help! Love, Lynneeeepooh

I am still having problems with them. I ordered a t-shirt in early November. I never received it, and when I e-mailed them it took until March for them to respond to me. They claimed they shipped the item but offered to send me a replacement. Now after 4 weeks I have still not received the replacement shirt. Apparently I have to contact the Michigan BBB to get this resoved. :sad2:

Success finally! When I got home from work today, my t-shirt had arrived! It only took 9 months! That is what I call speedy! :rotfl2:

But at least my niece can get her last Christmas gift now! :wizard:
