We did a 3-night in Jan 04 and stayed in a Cat. 3 and LOVED it. However, we are not having any luck finding a Cat. 3 for a 7-night for our time frame. Will we be unhappy staying in a Cat 5 or 6 for a 7 day cruise. The perks were awesome and the room was amazing and I don't want to be disappointed!

I had to book my cat 3 in advance of the announced cruise dates. I managed to get the cabin I wanted only by faxing a request to inventory control in Feb 04 for my Feb 06 Eastern cruise.....

They also made a mistake and booked me for a cat 1. If I could only have afforded that!

Our first 3 cruises were in Cat.5/6's. But for our 7-day, we had a mid-ship Cat. 3 and loved it. We had already booked our next cruise in a Cat. 5. Let's just say it was tough to go back. We enjoyed the cruise, but not the stateroom. We missed the perks and the space. That said, there is nothing wrong with regular cabins -- they're beautiful and will meet all your needs. They just might not meet all of your wants (perks, space, big TVs, big balcony, etc).

Just an FYI: we originally booked connecting Cat. 5's for that 7-day. (No suites were available). When I called DCL to have them add our name to the waitlist, the CM told me to call back several times a week to check if any had opened up. It took a month or two, but it worked. If you really want a suite, you have to be persistant.
