We were there from December 10-18 and couldn't be happier. The crowds were medium (except for the 17-18th, yikes!), the weather was perfect, and the cabin was fantastic. The Christmas decorations around the place were so beautiful! Made me wish we'd brought some to fix up our cabin.
A big shout out to Kenny from Tee Time, we had reserved a 6 seater with him for the great price of $300 for the entire time. When we got there he said the cart he had for us was having problems, so he brought us two 4 seaters instead, which worked out beautifully! Gave our teenagers freedom to come and go without us sometimes without depending on the bus. Only cart issue we had was when a kid nearly hit us head on speeding around the loop. He looked about 10 and if I hadn't swerved into the grass it would have been quite a crash.
Grocery delivery from Garden Grocer was fabulous, our order was waiting in the cabin when we checked in. So nice to have that kitchen to keep water bottles, sodas, snacks, breakfast munchies and the all important ice cream bars!
The cabin was spotless and mousekeeping took great care of us. We had big stacks of towels under the sink every day and even with six of us we never ran out. Lots of extra pillows too which is something that's hard to get at some hotels. They also left us awesome towel critters every day, Mickey, elephants, and snakes!
The beds were comfy but saying the cabin sleeps six is a stretch unless most of you are small. Our nine year old slept on the couch and we put an air mattress on the other side of the Murphy bed for our 13 year old which gave us a little more room to sleep comfortably. Those beds are a little too cozy for two adults or adult sized teens to share. I'm afraid we'll have to give up the cabins after this trip cause of this, the youngest will be too big for the couch next time and I'm not sure where we'd put a second air mattress. I wish they could make the full sized bed and the Murphy bed queen sized, but there really isn't enough space. I wish they'd convert a portion of the cabins to double wides with two bedrooms and two bathrooms, we'd be customers for life.
We ate at Trail's End a couple times and it was really good. I was surprised by how small the dining area was, but it was nice that it wasn't sprawling. Food was good and service was nice.
Overall it was a magical trip and we can't wait to go back!

Our flight arrives late and it would be wonderful if we could have some food in our Cabin when we arrive. Did they automatically deliver to the Cabin?

I know tipping is a personal issue but here in Australia we don't generally tip and I've read different amounts around.

Wonderful!! Can't wait to arrive :hippie:

Mamacita,

glad to hear your trip went well. That early-to-mid December time is a great time to be at WDW. The decorations are up, the Christmas crowds haven't shown up yet, the weather is usually fine, and the Fort is already in the Spirit.

The cabins are great but as you say, pushing the maximum capacity can feel claustrophobic. We stayed in the cabins when our kids were little but now we're pop-up people. If I stayed in a cabin now with my three now teenagers, I think I would spend a lot of time out on the deck! :goodvibes

Tell us more about your Trails End experience. Last I heard they were doing a menu/ala carte lunch and the buffets still for breakfast and dinner. Which meal did you eat there and how was it? What was on the menu or buffet line?

OziJo, the general tip for Mousekeeping is $1 per day per person, given daily. You may have different ladies each day.

Born 2 Fish, not ready for an RV just yet, but I'm determined to become a Disney snowbird when we retire!

OziJo, 1. It's my understanding that GG will deliver your groceries at the time you arrange, whether you've checked in or not. We got a text that it had been delivered to the front desk while we were still at the airport, and it was in our cabin when we arrived, with the cold items put away. If it's delivered before your room is ready, the hotel will refrigerate it until it can be put in your cabin. 2. We tipped Mousekeeping $5 per day for our family of six, but we did quite a bit of picking up after ourselves and didn't leave any dishes, on days when we've left a room more of a mess in the past we've tipped up to $8 for the six of us. In the past we've fixed up envelopes for each day with the tip in them before leaving home to make it easy but we forgot to do that and left a five on the counter right in front of the bathroom sink each day so they would know for sure it was for them.

bama ed, 1. We didn't really feel crowded in the cabin as far as living space cause we spent very little awake time there. We just thought beds that can actually be shared would make it more truly a six sleeper. 2. We had Trail's End for dinner so I don't know about the ala carte lunch. At dinner they had mac&cheese, mashed potatos, various veggies and a couple of breads, fried chicken, and brisket. I think they also had pizza and french fries but I might be remembering Crystal Palace. Also an ice cream machine with toppings, cookies, and a yummy hot cobbler. I've heard great things about their breakfast buffet but we didn't make it over for that.

Thanks for the GG info mamacita. I think we will definitely use them. And thanks for the tipping tips 2goofycampers & mamacita :) It's really something that stumps us Aussies. We want to do the right thing :thumbsup2
