One of our elderly neighbors passed away on Thanksgiving weekend after a long illness. His wife, Kathy had been his main caregiver for the duration of his illness. We've seen Kathy throughout the years, mostly in the summer, when people are "outside".

Yesterday - a different neighbor called me to let me know she was planning a small neighborhood dinner - the sole purpose to have a group dinner, to let Kathy know that we care about her, as we get closer to the holidays. It was a total of 3 familes plus who were there plus Kathy.

What a wonderful time!!!

And, I am grateful for our neighbor who came up with this idea. With how busy and crazy this time of year tends to get...it was really nice to take a step back and just relax and focus on the things that are really important.

What a kind and thoughtful gesture to help pick up for your friend's spirit after her sad loss, particularly with all the hustle bustle of the season :goodvibes. I'm sure it warmed her heart that neighbors care and took the time to show their love and appreciation of her friendship.

I'm sure that meant the world to her. How blessed she is to have such caring friends.

What a blessing for all of you, to take the time so show your love to another. Very, very nice!

Very thoughtful idea. I know a handful of people who have lost a loved one right before the holidays this year. :sad1: It's bad enough any time, but must really suck during the holidays.

That was very nice of all of you and she will be forever grateful.

How very nice! I'm sure it is appreciated more than you can imagine.

It's nice to know that thoughtful, caring neighbors still exist in some areas. :goodvibes
