We were in WDW from 10/14-10/22, and stayed four nights at the YC and four nights at the AS Movies (I posted my reviews of these on the resort board). The weather was perfect!! It was actually cooler at night and I had to buy a sweat jacket, as I didn't pack anything warm. The last couple of days were hot and muggy though. The crowds were okay. A little busier than expected. We did fast pass a lot so we didn't have to wait in line with a 3 year old, which worked out great!

We attended the MNSSHP twice! On the 17th and the 20th. The party was jam packed on the 17th. I thought it would be like an e ride night with not so many people but boy was I wrong! Couldn't get a spot to watch either of the parades each night. The 20th was less crowded though, maybe since it was a sunday night. We still had fun! DS wore a captain hook costume one night and a toy story alien one the other.

We made lots of priority seatings for dining, but usually ended up somewhere else. We ate at Beaches and Cream twice while at the YC and used our vouchers and got the kitchen sink which we could not come close to finishing. We also ate at the Sci Fi restaurant in MGM, 50's Prime Time Cafe, Chef Mickey's, The Liberty Tree Tavern, Rainforest Cafe in the AK (awfulllllllll food for breakfast, everything was undercooked!! never will go there again). The rest of our meals were counter service.

Some of the highlights of the trip were:

My son (3.5 years old) got to dance with Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs during the magical moments parade. It was too cute!!

My son also got to dance with Jamie, the host of the show at Playhouse Disney at MGM during one of the shows.

DS and DH rode the buzz lightyear ride at the MNSSHP and the bar wouldn't come up for them to get out so the ended up having to go thru FOUR times on the ride! LOL. The woman said..."You wouldn't mind having to go thru until we get this fixed would you?" LOL. Eventually an engineer came so they could get off. Meanwhile I was waiting for them and was wondering what the heck was taking so long. Oh well..they had fun!! :)

Once Upon a Toy in DD was awesome!!! I got my son a box full of disney potato head parts for his potatos for xmas which was a great deal!! They have so many cute things in that store. DS loved it!!

Overall our trip was great!! I'm not sure if we will stay as long next time. It felt like we were gone for a month!! I think we will try 7 days next time at the YC or wherever else we can get a great rate with the codes from mousesavers. Now back to the laundry! :LOL

Welcome home - sounds like a great trip - can't wait to see the toy store myself - thanks for posting!

Sounds like you had a fantastic trip! I was worried nine night won't be enough time.LOL If our trip is half as good as your's I'm sure we'll have a blast! Thanks for sharing!

sounds like fun, we were there also from the 14th to the 21st. We got the potato head pieces for our son too- he is 4 yrs old. How did you like chef mickey?? i heard so many mixed reviews we alsmost cancelled but we all loved it. We probably ran into each other and did not even know it. We did MNSSHP on the 17th and loved it. Thought it was crowded too. Glad to hear you had fun... have you planned the next trip yet???

We thought Chef Mickey's was okay. I think the food has gone down hill a little bit. There wasn't as big of a selection as I remember from last time. The character interaction was good and the napkin twirling was a blast, but I'm not sure it was worth the money. We were really wanting to do the Crystal Palace, but since it's being renovated maybe next time. We probably did run into each other!!

We haven't started planning the next trip yet. After I started adding up the money we spent ($5,055), I realized we should probably wait about a while to go again!!

We too spent a fortune on this trip but i convinced my husband to do Disney every 3 yrs. So we have some time to save up for the next trip. i think it was well worth it. My kids loved it. Crystal palace was my first choice too but we will do it next trip. Glad to hear you had a good time.

What a great trip. I wasn't too thrilled with Rainforest Cafe at AK either. Plenty of atmosphere but terrible food and service.

Thanks for posting this.

What a fun trip! Could you fill the Mr Potato Head box with just parts/accessories or did you have to put a "potato" in there also? Thanks!
